from Market Ticker (Karl Denninger): Los Angeles sheriff's deputy Andrew Wood will not be charged for fatally running over former Napster COO Milton Olin Jr. in his patrol car while the officer was typing a message into his computer. But it's ok because he was working, you see. Of course if I'm working and in doing so answer a text message, and as a result of doing so I run over a cyclist and kill him, you can bet I'd be charged with vehicular manslaughter (and justly so.) Oh, and the officer lied too -- he claimed the bicyclist veered into his lane. The DA reported that was not true; the opposite happened. That's a false report to police, and that's not being prosecuted either. Why is it, once again, that I should consider police officers individuals worthy of my respect or support? I'm rapidly reaching the point where I wouldn't***** on one if he was on fire. |

Where do you think anyone gives a shit about your respect or support?

Is today Lump All Cops Into One Category Day already? I thought that was on Tuesdays. I'm not ready for this.

In the year 2014 I still am amazed by people that feign shock about how cops are exempt from many restrictions the rest of society has.
Where the fuck have you been since forever? |

Former Napster COO? Didn't he steal millions from the entertainment industry?

I watched a Massachusetts State Police officer squeeze through an intersection after the light was red this morning. He had no lights on, and merely added himself to the backup after the red light.

Saw a Sheriff car drive by me the other day with the deputy texting with both hands on the phone, resting on top of his steering wheel. It was in 40mph steady traffic both ways.
But I am sure it was ok because he is trained for that. |
