Yeah Kessel got away with one there. He looked like he was trying to break his ankle.

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: I wonder how many games he would have gotten if he wasn't a Leaf Agreed, I think that's the lion's share of the decision. I still think being the team from the league's capital carried significant weight. If Staal, Giroux, Ovechkin, Parise, etc. had done what he did, I think they would have received more severe punishment. But the Leaf's leading scorer missing the season opener? Nope. Not that it is a big deal, the only thing consistent about the league is its inconsistency. |

God the injury bug...
For the Canes: Semin, Gleason, Lindholm and Skinner. |

Go Red Wings!!!
Interested to see the final roster cuts, and really stoked to be in the East this season. Bout time. |

Good lord, can't even imagine throwing beer into the mix. I sat out in the lobby and watched tv on more than one occasion. I like working the score sheet in the box. How did your son do? View Quote Did well, we played an older team that has been skating togehter for about 2 seasons..My son and one other are the new kids on his team. Took my son a shift or two to get moving...had a few knocks and mistakes today, but he did well. +/- 0...we dropped 2 goals quick in the first, we were playing defense the whole game we had a hard time beating their D..and their forwards were fast, they owned the neutal zone. One trickled in, ref blew the whistle to soon (everyone thought so, not just us) and blew it dead..we lost 3-0. We are 1-1-1 this tourney with a game tomorrow. |

What age level? I think I remember talking youth hockey with you in a thread a few years back. My son was a late starter (2nd year peewee), a year of bantams, now his 2nd year of high school. Crazy how they all just get bigger and faster.

Around here High School is a death sentence for continuing on with hockey beyond high school... Around here it just depends where you're at. We get plenty of talent diverted to the minors and stuff, but high school is still solid. If you're a stud in Podunk, you're out of luck. If you're on a metro team in contention to make the state tournament, you're on the radar, and will get recruited and/or drafted if you've got what it takes. Kid in my son's grade who had been playing varsity since 8th grade is going to a boarding school in Canada this year. Parents say they're not doing it for the hockey. Of course not. My kid? I just think it's awesome that he's got a high school sport. No NHL in his future. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

The Hawks didn't appreciably change from last year to this. They looked good during preseason for whatever that means. They seem to have some good kids in the pipeline ready to fill a few spots. I don't think our penalty kill will be as good as it was last year as we lost frolick and Bolland. Other than that I think its all gonna come down to how Crowford plays. With Emery gone to Philly and Khabibulin backing him up he's gonna need to play out of his mind. |
