star wars as a film designed by a guy more interested in things than characters, designed for pre pubescent teens ripping off b movie themes with shoddy plots.

first time i heard a spacecraft in the vacuum of space make a sound like an nazi stuka dive bomber it was a big wtf.

lucas's best movie was amerikan graffiti. star wars was perhaps the slickest b-movie series ever made.

Supposedly, that was necessary for Star Wars to avoid a PG-13 rating on re-release. I believe it, but I'm sure he could have worked around it somehow.

Empire Strikes Back Part V

Return of the Jedi Part VI

Revenge of the Sith Part III

Attack of the Clones Part II

The Phantom Menace Part I

Also, the great Empire didn't seem to last too long, since it only spanned two generations (from Anakin to Luke)

I recall back in the 1980s, after the release of the ROTJ, the ESB was often regarded as the worst of the three during friendly conversation.

Now it's regarded as the best of the three.

Go figure.

That's because we were all 12 years old.

Through the lens of history, I think it's more clear that ESB was a well-directed movie that gets a lot of things right where Lucas' direction is clumsy and acts against his own narrative.

His prequel films and his constant need to edit the original films have made the entire series and unwatchable mess... and this is coming from someone who the only movies he watched when he was kid was the Trilogy or the Ewok movies. (YES THATS HOW I ROLL CARAVAN OF COURAGE REPRESENT!!)
