While I wouldn't have quite gone about it that way (his vertical orientation was spot on though), I'm glad someone is finally trying to reach the masses about proper videography with smart phones. I too am quite sick of watching "breaking news" stories with only half of the screen showing the action. And what he forgot to mention was that people also need to hold the phone/camera STILL. Not only do we get to miss half the action because of the screen orientation, we miss another half of the action because the videographer (I use that term lightly these days) is so jittery and inattentive to what they're doing that they can't even keep the camera pointed in the right direction.
