Sorry Mods. This is better placed here. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_10_3/666703_Another_Fresh_Reason_to_Kill_Coyotes.html

Thirty minutes ago my dogs went ballistic. Something was in the brush outside the fence 25 yards away. Out stepped a Coyote.
It stood there and eyed up my dogs as a morning meal, as a flimsy wire mesh fence was the only thing keeping it away from breakfast.
The Yote saw me as I went inside to get my rifle and took for the brush. I grabbed my AR, and a cup of hot coffee, and stepped outside and sat down on the back steps.
About 20 minutes later, out it come for the bait. Just yesterday I put out a pile of hog fat.
Terminally gut shot.

good shot,  I take it that it was quartering away from you when you shot it?

How was he oriented when you shot? I can't tell if it entered at the shoulder and skimmed along and exited at the gut? What bullet did you use? Nice job though, another one down.

Right side was facing. She was head down going towards the bait.

First shot was high belly on right.

When hit she spun right and was biting on her legs.

As I walked towards her she was nose away laying on her right side and kicking hard.

I took a heart shot and ended her. It must have ricocheted off a rib? No idea. Then the bullet exited left and ripped through and out the left shoulder.
Ammo was the first clip I grabbed. Hornady TAP 62gr. Barrier Penetrating.

Red X was line of sight from my back steps. Figured if I got up it would spook.

Tied to stump on the other side of the creek.

Nice kill! Gotta ask, though, why did you tie it to a stump?

Also, where did you get the "Clips" for your AR-15? I gotta get me some of those...

ROFLMAO, figured someone would catch that "clip" part.

Hung on the stump for respective carnivores.
In effort to protect a herd of these.

In my experience. Coyote will very rarely come to another dead animal to eat it. They'd rather catch a mouse in a field, or chase down a fawn as a pack. They'll also walk right by something dead to eat weeds! Seen it hundreds of times.

But, hey, good luck in your ventures.
