My setup is definitely on the ghetto end of the spectrum ... http://www.skhowell.com/images/shack-bench-1.jpg I tend to play with DIY items, the pic above includes blue box with a mic connector breakout that supports PTT 1/4" plugs and a switch between the stock mic & a 1/4" plug connection to a Pyle clone of the Shure 58 as well as 6 PF keys. Beside the shelf on the left is a home brew rotary coax switch. The green box on the shelf houses audio isolation xformers for the TS-590S ACC2 connector as well as a 1/4" plug for the ACC2 /USB PTT (it mutes the front mic input). The yellow cord on the TM-732a is a CAT5 patch cable being used as a mic cable for the Nissei NS-508 mic by the keyboard. Speakers on the peg-board are dual externals for the TS-590S (mini-bookshelf speakers...) and separate speakers for VHF/UHF from the TM-732a. On the right is the AR-15 pistol grip PTT used for the gooseneck mic (works well as a thumb switch). Not seen are a couple of foot switches for front mic PTT and ACC2/USB PTT and the current balun transitioning to the ladder line for ANT1's feed for the 160m FWL. There is also a low-loss PWRgate behind the Samlex PS that is attached to an AGM battery for float charging. Nick View Quote Another shack I would bring good bourbon to in order to operate from. Cinderblock and pegboard FTW! |

Really nice is not comes to my mind but thanks for the compliment.
Question, you have a 590, why do you have a signalink and not using the 590's USB? |

Pretty awesome, and full of great ideas! You've helped me make quite a few decisions on my setup!
Here's a shameless bump to see if anyone else will share! |

I'm in DC for the next six weeks. Without a radio! I'll post a pick of my updated shack when I get back to the Deep South.

I figured that, just hasslin ya, all in good interwebz fun!
Hopefully catch some of you jokers on the air this weekend. My shack is when ever I feel like dragging out my FT100D to the back porch and setting up an antenna. Wife out of town this weekend, so clamping my Buddistick to the chimney wont be a problem. |

Not to long ago I sold pretty much every piece of HF equipment I owned for a single purchase. You may remember the build thread. Actually I sold enough to also buy the companion amp, but as they say "life happens." As such I have a desk, in a whole room, with monitors and laptops and power supplies etc, but if I'm turning the radio on it most likely looks like this:
I guess things could be worse. ETA: Changed pic to something more recent. Can you guess who I was trying to contact at the time? |

Slight modification to the shack. Built a shelf for the K2. That leaves a little room underneath it for the paddles/straight key. http://www.pbase.com/david_3/image/160434253/original.jpg Yeah, I know....no duct tape. View Quote Still beautiful! You know, your original pic's on Page 1 of this thread have all expired... |

Mine's in flux (again) and I'll post a current pic when I get the mess straightened out.
I tore down the QRO spot and set up a TS-130V and TS-660 to go with the pair of FT-726Rs on that side of the bench. Everything there is 10w out. That goes well with the old-school SSB CB (Stoner Pro-40, CPI CP-2000) goodness. The two "main" spots are currently occupied by 100w Ten-Tec rigs, and if I had 220v into the shack their companion Hercules II amps would be inline. |
