Anybody got the rig control settings for the TS-590 ?

I have waterfall RX and TX,  but it's not reading the freq. etc.
switched to  HRD/DM-780 for a long time, and used to have the FLGIDI settings screenshots saved, but I think they are on my old hard drive

mostly need the RIG CAT  / HAMLIB settings

thanks

It looks like you have the audio correct and just need to set the COM port.  Go into device manager and see what COM port the Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge is using.  Then go into FLdigi setup and set that.  Should work after that if I remember right.  It's been a month or so and it's on my laptop, not my main desktop.  If nobody else replies I can fire up the laptop...

Use RigCAT. Get the right XML file here:

http://www.w1hkj.com/xmlarchives.html

Directions on how to set it up here:

http://www.w1hkj.com/FldigiHelp-3.21/html/rig_control_page.html

Use CAT for PTT.

You do know what COM port and baud rate your radio is on, right?

They default to 115,200 Baud.

I forget which program would get buggy if I set the baud higher than 57600, but I keep everything set there.

everything else, DM-780 etc., runs fine at that rate

as long as the radio and FLDIGI are both at 57600, it should run

. . . . well. . . .kinda.....if I roll the 590's VFO, FLDIGI changes

....if I roll the freq on FLDIGI with my mouse, the 590 ignores it

edit
IF filter BW and mode ( LSB, USB, etc, ) can be changed with the mouse
...but not VFO

Try some different Kenwood xml files at random. You could get lucky! Seriously! [no smiley]

changed it from RigCAT to HamLib and now rig control works both ways....from the mouse or radio.

years ago, I ran my TS-480 on FLDIGI in UBUNTU LINUX, it worked well, but eventually, I switched to windows and HRD
this might be step one for trying LINUX again, with the TS-590

I've never been successful in getting it to work with my TS-590 either.

Was HRD buggy at 115200?  I get USB disconnects a lot when I use my built in antenna tuner?

This seems to be working just fine.

I've got RX, TX, and rig control
guess I need to play with logging next

Setting up all these digital software programs is a bit like the bugs bunny cartoon were the cargo plan is diving towards the earth, and bugs just keeps randomly pushing buttons and levers until the plane stops just before they crash into the ground.

if you keep selecting and nu-selecting options, eventually, it just works

Son of a bitch, It didn't work the first time I tried your setting, but now it is.

I guess HRD was still using the com port and that's why it wasn't connecting.  Closed everything, restarted and working.

Thanks
