"Light for over 1 1/2 months on one set of batteries !" (Based on 5 hours of use per day using Energizer alkaline batteries.)

8 LEDs .......4 D-cells.

I just bought mine at Lowes for $19.97. I have a good many lights for small areas thought this light was appropriate for larger zones.

Here's a link for the features:

With some rechargeable batteries and a solar charger that could be real handy.

Time is about 3:35PM on 9/10/09. Still burning just fine.

I'm pretty sure I have NOT run this test correctly. Think the 245 hour life is derived by running the light 5 hours per day and giving the batteries a chance to recover a bit when not in use.

Anyway, 75+ hour continuous burn and still going.

Given the cost of four D batteries, I could buy a $7 6 volt rechargeable SLA and get beaucoup runtime with a renewable battery.  A pair of CR123s would work in a pinch, too.

The lamp is cheap enough that I wonder if a direct 12V test is in order.   ;-)

Thanks for sharing this!

ETA:  I just had to laugh to myself.  The first I heard of the light was on ARFCOM.  I do a day of yardwork, go to State capital for a tea party, go to Lowe's 70 miles away, buy light, eat lunch, check ARFCOM and the test is still going, ha.

i believe this has convinced me to buy 2 of these. might even pick up 3 just in case. i have a couple of crank LED lanterns and there OK at best. if i buy these, i can experiment on the crank ones by putting in more/better batteries and better LED's, which will probably kill the damn things but oh well. it will give me something to do for a couple of hours at work.
