Frustrating day. I love my 10/22, but I really want a precision bolt gun.

No entry, just trying out some new ammo. 75 yards. I need practice.

Got to try out my latest AR build with a LaRue PredatAR barrel.  I was just standing at about 20 yards or so, but the rifle was grouping nicely.  I'm still not sure if I am capable of 1MOA, but I'm certain my rifle is.

Congratulations on some great shooting!
My #2 spot only lasted a month but I will be back again hopefully when things cool down out here.

At least you were using a Larue barrel which makes it easier on me.

Not at all. There were a couple of errors I had to fix so it was easy to correct them.  I'll get the bolt and .22 updated tomorrow.

My stab at it. I've come close a couple times but the wind was almost non-existent yesterday which helped. Not sure why photobucket won't keep my pictures rotated.

100yard range (verified with range finder)

Set up to try the SHTF challenge too, but forgot a tape to measure my dismal performance.

Final outcome:

I would reshoot it but all my range time (almost none) and ammo is going towards a DMR match series.

After the series is done I'll try the MOA challenge again. I will need to develop a new load with a new bullet. I've formed the opinion that the 77TMK is only capable of .5 MOA at the very best. My friend's desert tech with .223 conversion, which will smoke my AR any day with 77smk doesn't shoot any more accurately than mine when fed TMK. I think with a better bullet, I can reclaim second but doubt I'll knock off Mike P.

Ironically by the time I get to reshoot it, I may have shot out this krieger and be on my Larue barrel.

Shoot, I can't even outshoot that target again since I sold the upper! lol. I've had a few come VERY close lately, like the 260 Rem tOBR I've been shooting and I think could make it near there, but that upper was just something special.

I've got a few other manufacturers barrels I can attempt to get up there, but a majority of my rifles are either full Larue or built around Larue barrels. The performance at their price point, especially when on sale is just fantastic. I wish I could change some of my other calibers to Larue barrels. (300, 6.5G, 6.5CM)

I recently listed my 6.5CM rifle for sale unfortunately as I haven't given it any attention since the 260 came and could use some cash in my pocket. It's a solid .4-.6 moa rifle, but with a Larue 6.5 Creedmoor barrel I think it would have renewed interest from me.

ETA: Sorry OP, just saw the edit above. I will make it a point to shoot the MOA all day again this weekend for you guys. Maybe with the 260 or 6.5G.

My First time trying this, You folks make this look easy but it is not!!. I think I got it right:
100 yd range

The rifle,bench and set up

The Target

Smallest group

SPR Division 100yds, Rifle is a BCM SS410 18" 1-8 twist upper, Colfax Tactical lower, LaRue MBT Trigger, Leupold Mark AR MOD 1 6 18x40mm Mil Dot,
Front bag is an upside down Caldwell bag and rear is a Triad Tapered rear bag. Ammo was Gold Dot 64gn top 2, Australian Outback 69gn bottom 2 and IMI 77gn center target(I wanted to use the IMI but I did not have enough)
Well it seams my calculations are off, I must admit it has been a while since I was last in school LOL, I have been informed my first group should be .875  and I did not divide by 1.047 so lets try this again;
 .875-.224 =  .651
1.263-.224 =1.039
1.369-.224 =1.145
1.025-.224 =  .801
1.105-.224 =  .881
                 =4.517/5=.9034/1.047=.863

Will some one please check my calculations as my head is spinning LOL

I shot the challenge while doing load development today for my latest build. The gun will definitely shoot better than I can. Now that I've got the load dialed in I can't wait for it to cool off and see how much I can tighten these up.

Went out with the wife today she shot the rifle posted above and will be posting her results tonight. I decided to try .22lr at 100 while we were out there. 5 1/4" of drop from 50 to 100 yards. The Mueller tracked and returned to zero very well.

Any .22 LR with magnified optic at 100 yards, EXCATM76: Savage MK II FV - DIP cheek piece - Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 EGW scope base - SK Rifle Match. Groups: .917"/1.69"/.782"/.404"/1.128" = Average .9842" = .940 MOA

Savage FVSR with Weaver 2-10x36 FFP (had some parallax going on at 50 yards, need to get a AO scope for this guy).

Front Protektor rest, rear is a small dump pouch that I put two pairs of cotton gloves in and cinched up.

I tried Federal Gold Medal match and Eley target, totally disappointed in both of them in this rifle, especially for the cost!

CCI Standard turned out to be the best groups so that's what I used for the challenge.

Range, middle berm is 100 yards:

Groups (yes I cried salty tears after pulling the 5th shot on the upper right group):

Tape over best group:

This is the rifle, the bag is a 8in weibag:

SPR Division / 100yds; Potss: Home Built, 16in Lothar Walther poly rifled medium contour, Hiperfire EDT, CAV-15 Stock, SWFA 10x42- 55gr Berger Match Flat Base HSM loaded. Groups: 0.427"/0.462"/0.657"/0.7145"/.987" = avg. 0.6495"/1.047= .6203MOA (I hope I did the conversion to MOA right).

To clarify: the one covered hole by the top left target was another shooter hitting my target.  Cease fires were called every 30min or so, so targets tend to stay out there with limited space for some time.
