It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

I can just barely hear a voice. The only reason I knew it was him is that someone called him by name.

I activated K6565 this afternoon. Did pretty good for the time I had. Got a Spanish station and some Canucks. Doesn't sound all that's impressive but it's with my mobile set up and a $29 ham stick.

I've heard him call out about 10 times, he's the only one that I hear.

I excitedly check the mail every day. LOL! I get cards most days, as many as a half dozen at a time. Yesterday it was two -- Colorado and U.S. Virgin Islands. |

Probably wouldn't have him in my logbook, either. |

It was like a yoyo; one second you were 55 and a couple of seconds later gone entirely. I could never even hear a complete transmission but I did hear your call clearly once. I checked back a few times but didn't hear anything then. |

I was able to make 39 QSO's in about 1.5 hours, so not bad. Got the activation, new park for me and a new state, SD. |

It’s nice out today and the lovely lady is at work. Should I go to the beach today that I’ve worked a few times and make QSO’s until my hand gets tired of logging or should I go into the National park where I’ll be in a deep valley and I’m 1 for 2 on activating and the one time I activated it took me all day and included a lot of 80m in state?
