M4 Survival rifle clone down the road, maybe?

But with no Marlin youth model XT-22 rifles to build them with sales were poor. To make a clone of the original H&R M4 is a fool’s errand. Braced pistols have become the new compact “survival rifle” |

Hi Mike, I'm really looking forward for the release of your products.
I'm wondering who is doing the anodizing and if there will be a non H&R marked retro lower available in the future. Similar to the PSA stealth lowers or m4/m16a2/m16a4 lowers but with A1 profiles. The reason is because I own a colts part kit that I've been wanting to build. |

The link posted in the op doesn’t work.

While it's true that opinions are like assholes and everybody has one please bear in mind that not everyone wants to see your ass.

GUU-5/P would be awesome, but any A1 with a pencil profile 14.5 P&W 1/7 twist wold be cool.
Looking forward to the new line. |

@mike_nds will H&R have a CAGE code? Asking in case anyone wants to get a UID label for their lowers.

Mike, what is the weight difference btwn an A1 lower & the most recent reinforced buffer tube boss lowers? Is it as much as an ounce?

Insert “50 Shades of Grey” joke here.
Parts look great already. Thanks for taking the time necessary to make things to a high standard. I’ve said for years, you can be on time once, but you can have a POS forever. |

I need another AR like I need another hole in my head…but a nice retro rifle would be fun.

I just submitted a PO for M16A2 and C7 upper forgings today.
Lead times are long right now, so I don’t know exactly when we’re going to get them. But it is happening. I’ll post updates when I have them. |

If you're able to price these in line with PSA's modern offerings I'll probably end up with one of everything from the retro line. |

Earlier this year there was a thread that detailed some of the retro lowers coming from PSA/H&R, that mentioned an XM177E2 stamped lower being part of the mix. Is this still the case?

People who care enough to nitpick about how you got the markings on the lower would rather fill out a Form 4 than have a barrel that is several inches out of spec and the bottom of the muzzle device blemmed on purpose. You probably still wouldn't sell a ton of the complete rifles, but the uppers will probably fly out the door. I personally am waiting for the 653/723 type (not picky). I would prefer a 16" OAL with P&W, because its only .2 inches of barrel in that case. I'm one of those weirdos that actually believes 14.5" is the best all around length for ARs that don't have some kind of special purpose, 14.7" is close enough, and there is virtually zero chance I would ever want to take the muzzle device off. |

I’m going to be flexible depending on how the market responds. A1 and XM lowers will be done in both gray and black. And all 4 upper types will be done in gray and black, with H&R doing mostly gray. DPMS and PSA will be doing black only. |

That is the coolest part of the 999 and what makes it desirable. If it is not top break, then it is just another generic boring revolver that would not be worth making. |
