I thought it was me for a minute, but the original pics show a normal lower. Doesn't that rather screw up a magwell hold? Looks kak too. Are they the same lowers he's currently uisng for .223's?

Is it the new SGC 'upgrade-downgrade' Mk6 lower...

Latest pics show the CNC 9mm lower....it's not the same as the .223 billet lower. Why the change to the magwell ? No idea, i prefer the original forged lower to be honest.

Barrel length is 16" & the upper receiver is different too. No LH cocking slot and shorter ejection port.

Put 600 rounds through mine this week without a hiccup.

got to say.. if I was having one... I'd want real receivers both top and bottom, i'd want the cut-off ejection port and the barrel cutting down to 12.001"

So barrell length has changed from standard order length of 13 1/4" to 16" ? Or did you request the longer barrell?

Just asked for a unicorn and that's what arrived, he also advised before we paid that he had to put the price up £100 due to the CNC lower I begged to have some parts changed (handguards & sight) but he would not alter his production line

To be honest I did not actually order it, about a fortnight ago Bob rang my mate who ordered one about 4 years ago to say it was ready for delivery. My mate had totally forgotten and was not interested anymore but I jumped at the chance to get on the waiting list, the rest is history.

Luckily I just scored a shitload of 9mm for £12/100

Typical bob , changing specs etc.  I just took mine and changed various parts , to much hassle trying to organise specific parts through bob. Good work on the cost of the 9mm , i just paid £15 - 100 .
Mine does seem a bit 9mm fussy , doesnt like the rg 115gr (slightly bulbous head) but loves the imi 115gr ( slightly more pointy)

Mine eats Wolf (steel cases) / IMI / Magtech (lead) without any issues. Haven't tried RG yet. Keeping it fed is the main issue....

Current issue stuff is IMI and some of it is available surplus but it's not for me as I don't want a Unicorn.

Please streetfighterclause, I have been a good boy all year, can I have a mid length rail for my Unicorn, and maybe some BUIS so I can ditch the crap ebay optics and scaffold pole fore end.

Looks crap, ace fun to shoot though !!

Yep, very nice to shoot Dan, I think every one was impressed.

Not as much fun as a .22 lr semi though.

Andy.

Yes, I do wish he wouldn't use that. It makes my job so much more difficult when I come to fix them

I did see that and wondered why he keeps the good stuff for himself while passing all that CAA tat onto his customers

Now, as to that barrel and rail system..........

The limit is 300mm, so that's 11.81"

You owe me 0.69"!

So have you guys put any more rounds through them yet? How's the reliabilty going? Any updates as to if FB is taking custom orders yet or is he sticking to a 16" tube and that silly cacwell?

Only had mine a week so cant call this a thorough report but its eaten 150 rounds of 147gn PPU FMJ without incident. I got mine standard spec, 16" barrel and a cylindrical float tube figuring that I would shoot it first and make changes later if required. Aesthetically Id like a shorter barrel  but Im worried I may lose a little accuracy if I get it chopped to 12"? At the moment it will group at 2-3" freestanding at 25 metres with the aforementioned ammo.
Both my other AR's have foregrips though and Im missing that on the unicorn, wont be long before it gets a new fore end and grip.
Overall Im really happy with it !!

Have put many hundreds of rounds through mine, loads of variety. Have found a sweet spot for reloads, 3.5gr Bullseye behind a 125gr LTC bullet, getting excellent groups and good reliability, have some LRN on order.
Have had the odd case not fully eject and end up in the action.
Does not like FMJ-TC, when loading rounds occasionally hit the top of the breech and wedge themselves, I reckon the short COL is to blame.
Ordinary FMJ (RN) is perfect, works fine with NATO spec stuff i.e. RG & FNM and also commercial Howitzer (115gr) but my range is lead only hence the reloads.
Have sourced a load of 25rd UZI mags and am checking compatibility, it seems like Bob does not go by the spec below, his mags seat slightly higher, am having a crack so see what works best, mate has them at his machine shop, may advertise any spares on here in the EE.

Just need Bradders to get some rails in stock so I can stick my shiny new ebay special EOTech on it.

Currently i have enjoyed probably 1500 rnds through mine. Cant fault it , only had misfeeds with RG. Use IMI without any issues.
Have simply cleaned / wiped out the action and lubed up 5 or 6 times.
Overall very good so far ..........................

Managed to photo a stovepipe in mine, whats the usual cause ? COL too short or long ? modified mag sitting too low / high ? would love to see a high speed film so you can tell how the round deflects to end up like that

That's not a stovepipe, that's a misfeed

As for the cause, ask the big lad from Bodmin

It's rumoured that the colossus will be at Millpool tomorrow so I'll ask him then.

This is what happens to mine when using the RG ammo. I put it down to the slightly shouldered bullet shape (sure someone will be along to give a full explanation why this happened))
I simply changed to IMI which has a nice dome head . Problem solved not a single stoppage.

You think he would have designed it to use unmodified mags, there are already a few decent 9mm AR15 mags out there.

Pretty much as I can shoot ≤1" groups at 25yds with a steam driven Marlin 1894C...

Rate of fire is probably as high too.

First outing with an EOTech last night, only took 50 rounds with me, used the first few targets to zero and then finished off by shooting 2x 99's freestanding 20 yds  PL12, not bad apart from dropping one each time .
I reckon the 9mm is made for the EOTech, don't think I'll worry about getting a magnifier.

Had a hasty invite to Bisley yesterday to get rid of surplus 9mm, the barrel was smoking hot and the range nazis were very sympathetic once I told them of my plight.
