You might see when you look three different release dates...all they did was repackage the same episodes each time. Just FYI on that. Annoyed the hell out of me. (ETA) Tactical Roar was alright, as well. 13 episodes, naval. |

Yea, wasn't to bad, just finished it. I think i'll see if there is any new episodes of Heavy Object, so far as I know it's still going on. I have seen up to episode 23 I think. If not I'll look for something else that someone's suggested.

The last couple of episodes felt like the writer had second thoughts about the ending, but overall it's one of my favorite shows. |

After four episodes, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri (Steampunk Zombies) seems to have gotten all the main characters, and their connections to each other, sorted out. The end of episode four felt like the end of the first volume of a light novel series, so I guess we have to wait to see where volume two takes the story.
Bakuon!! is still entertaining. Latest episode got me wondering how long it's been since I've seen a two cycle bike for sale. |

View Quote The novels are even better (Amazon stocks them), though the author has a problem with figuring out how to publish stuff in chronological order. The licensed English translation of SAO volume 7 of the novels is out, and volume 8 will be released later this year. That covers the material in the main novel series up to the point where the second season of the anime left off. The third volume of the licensed English translation of SAO: Progressive is out, and the fourth volume is due later this year. Progressive goes back and fills in the missing floors (in chronological order, for a change) from the original story arc of when they were trapped in Aincrad. Volume 1 includes the story material from episode 2 of the first season of the anime, but that episode was a heavily condensed version of what happens in the first half of that novel. |

Amazon has the original story arc manga (Sword Art Online: Aincrad), and the Progressive manga. From what I've read, there are some small differences in the story. In the anime, Kirito meets Asuna at the planning meeting for the 1st floor boss raid. In the novels (Progressive), Kirito meets Asuna and saves her life while exploring the 1st floor maze, then invites her to the planning meeting for the 1st floor boss raid. In the Progressive manga, Kirito sort of meets Asuna (but doesn't get introduced and probably doesn't remember her) and saves her life, when Asuna makes her first trip out of the starting city, long before the planning meeting for the 1st floor boss raid. |

Then FMA: Brotherhood continued to follow the manga story (from where FMA diverged) once the manga story continued. |

The movie includes a small side story (the quest to find a whale), introduces a character that is in the next long story arc, and mixes in some fan service, besides the recap of the first season, but yeah, it's not required viewing for watching the second season. The original Aincrad arc (and Progressive filling in the missing floors) is the best of the series, but the later arcs are necessary for setting up how things lead to Accel World. |
