The week prior to this I did about 25 miles of combined running and ruck marching which is about 15 miles more than I normally do (I had to bust out a 12-mile ruck on a whim) but I thought I was pretty well recovered.

I also feel like my form sometimes suffers when I am not lifting by myself, again siking myself out when I am out of my element, I suppose. I got stuck coming out of the hole (which is where I normally get stuck). I will be taking a minor .mil "vacation," and I am probably going to have a 2-week training gap, so we will see where I am at when I return.

I bought one in 10.5 and two in 10, 'cause I wasn't sure what colors I wanted

My current pair are 10.5s, and I have a bit of room in the toe so I wanted to try the smaller size.

Man, you guys still lifting?

I did chest with the wife today with some pullups mixed in for fun. I got a pretty week feeling 275x5

Than I asked her if she wanted to push the sled. I haven't done sled work since high school wrestling. I put 180 on it and told her to go down and back. There is a 40 yard turf strip. She got back and I told her to sit on the sled and I went. I flew down for the first 40, turned around and made about 5 steps and I slowed down, a lot.

We did one more rep and I felt like I had to puke the whole ride home.

I think that was fun.

I've still been managing 3, 5 mile runs in armor. I think my legs are growing. I haven't squated or done legs at all in months. WTF.

The body has to run blood through its entire circuit three or four times, which takes about a minute each, to actually run out of oxygen. The one thing to never do when free diving is to hyperventilate. Hyperventilating does not increase the level of O2, it decreases the level of CO2. While that help relieve the urge to breath, that CO2 is a safety valve to let you know when to get your ass up and take a breath. By hyperventalating you remove that safety valve to a degree, and allow the body to run out of oxygen, resulting in shallow water blackout, and other such fucked up shit.
Are your really going to disagree with Stan Lee?

Mine are just large sapi plates. I need a small pair for my wife's interceptor. I'm tempted to get her some poly plates.

My lifting buddy got a sled. So we've been using it. Yeah they are fun and horrible at the same time.

Got my deadlift tested to 555 and squat to 515. I could have gone more on the squat and the deadlift should be heavier but I was having an off day. Regardless that's 50lbs to my total in 8 weeks and I test bench this week. I think I'll get it up to 415(10lb pr).

Don't you hate it when you make steady, pretty quick gains for years. Then you get a little older and get your diet and training dialed in and BAM! Your body just goes. No. Slow down.

50lbs in 2 months is still really good. That's on the high end of realistic anyways. Good job man

I read Mark Rippetoe's article about Lamar Grant. He said he benched way down on his chest. So Since I have the same sort of build I tried that today. I think I like better. Felt like it engaged my chest much better.

How do you like the carrier? I've had this one maybe 5-6 months and even though there is no padding it is very comfortable to run in. I can adjust the cummerbund to be just right enough that it doesn't bounce but loose enough that I can breath.

I love not having MOLLE all over it. I can throw it on under a flannel and I just look bigger but it's concealed.

If I need more ammo than what I EDC than I can throw on my warbelt and have everything I need that's easier to access to boot.

Who knew that a couple days at disney would wreck me.  I had my backpack so technically I'll call it a ruck.  I was also hobbling around with what is probably a broken big toe.  But it seems to be healing, so I squatted this morning.  Back to the grind.

I like it. Should buy the soft armor to gain side protection from handgun rounds.

Have put together all manner of belt configurations, but could never make them work well in a vehicle. I keep a small chest rig with the required basics set up to go over this carrier. Never know. IFAK, three 30s, Leatherman.

Use code ESAPI for $200 plates

I want to keep this vest as light and lopro as possible. I've got concealable soft armor and interceptors if I want more protection.

Probably felt more chest because you couldn't use your lats to help stabilize the weights.  That could be bad though.

Nope, never tried rowing the same as benching. I have done agonist/antagonist workouts before. But never tried to push both to the same level. Firing up the pulling muscles between pushing sets is supposed to increase pushing power, but I've never done it with the mind to pull hard and push hard.
