That’s a bigger problem, because the West can’t replace that in less than a couple of decades at least.

We're better off returning to how it was. Fuck the decadent debauchery that computers created.

Nonsense.

Your vision creates a world with one superpower, and it’s China.

I guarantee that’s not a world you want to live in.
False. They cannot survive in a world without Pax Americana.

On what, exactly, do you base this statement?

I am confident that war with China is inevitable.  So much so, I am of the opinion and advocate for a first strike plan.  We should pre-emptively strike China with all our might as every week we delay makes our inevitable losses greater.  Taiwan, at the very least should be our main defensive line.  Any attack on Taiwan, South Korea or any other Pacific ally should receive the whole response.

The Absent Superpower is a good starting point.

Their best option is a demoralized submissive US.

Neville Chamberland was a Lt in the 7th foot during the 2nd Anglo-Afghan war.

Neville Chamberlain his also widely considered a fool who capitulated instead of showing some backbone.

Reverting 20+ years in the tech race seems like a brilliant way to demoralize the US and make them more submissive.

Not when we go back to the agrarian times the Constitution was written for. There will be no technology race, and we'll be better off for it.

That’s a fantasy, and not a very good one.  Nobody is willingly going to revert to a preindustrial society, and nobody would like it if they did - especially while letting China advance past us.

The Information Age isn’t going anywhere.  China is going to move on Taiwan at some point, and if we let them, we’ll be much worse off as a result.

We just spent 20 years at war with illiterate drug addicted goat headers. And lost.

Considering our current political situation. Fighting a billion people who are educated with a huge industrial base is a terrible idea.

Chains and slavery are acceptable as long as we remain the global empire of decadence and corruption.

*eyeroll*

Yeah, ok…

Ironically, in your golden agrarian age, we actually did have slavery,,,

I miss having books. Post divorce it’s been 99% digital reading for me.

Every once in awhile I window shop the few remaining book stores for nostalgia sake.

Edgar Allan Poe-The Raven- Read by James Earl Jones

Edgar Allan Poe: Ligeia read by Vincent Price

So he was as lost as Prime Minister as he was as a Lieutenant?

We didn't lose, Joe Biden withdrew all forces and gave the country back to the taliban.  Huge difference.

Because we had spent 20 years enriching the Military Industrial Complex and the Air Force. They'll never be Jefferson democracies. Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires.

King George withdrew all forces and gave the Colonies back to the Americans. Did Great Britain lose the Revolutionary War?

Gen Cornwallis surrendered after losing the siege of Yorktown.  Joe Biden followed up on a campaign promise, without external pressure from hostile forces.
Big fucking difference.
