I have a 2018 Jeep Wrangler that’s getting up in mileage, I am considering upgrading to a Gladiator, I remember an old tread and now you can get a new one for less than 40k. why are they so cheap? Any reasons not to? Basically city streets and flat off road so nothing 4 wheel super complex.

Restyle on the 2024, they are discounting leftover 2023. I bought a JTR two weeks ago and with my trade wound up ~30k off msrp. I dont think the changes are significant enough to order a 24 at full price, and the one I bought is l-l-loaded. It is my 2nd Gladiator and I love them.

2020 here.
Love it. Remember it is a JL Wrangler until after the backseats. The longer wheelbase gives it a much better ride than the Wrangler. There are guards you can install between aft of the rear wheel to the back bumper if you think the departure angle will be a problem. With 33s at 75mph it gets 19mpg. Not bad. 64k miles and I’ve only replaced the front brake pads.
I would buy another if something happened to this one.

2020 overand here, 3" zone lift with 35's... rides better than factory, pretty comfy ride for me, do highway and back roads for work. Great with soft top in summer ( flips back in 10 seconds), i put hard top on for winter ( takes 30 minutes to switch back ) little noisy on highway,
my factory alpine system system is awesome. love it, Zero Regerts.....

someone sent me a link while talking about a gladiator in another thread, a dealership in MO.   i contacted them and they offered me 15k under MSRP on a rubicon. i was gonna bit but i didn't want to pay the additional CA taxes.

here in CA, they are still near MSRP, or they have a shit load of useless mall crawler garbage on them to jack the prices up.   the pricing is dropping though.

i would jump on one, but i don't want a 900 dollar a month payment.

They're not selling.

Jeep is offering 15% off MSRP and dealers are also selling under invoice which further deepens the discount.

If you want one now is the time, they're practically giving them away.  I've seen 12-15K off sticker.

Unfortunately I cannot buy right now or I'd have one.

Bullshit

I work at a Stellantis dealership and nationwide these perform so poorly even 20% off MSRP doesn't move the needle.

For a while some dealers were doing 30% off and still had inventory with 180+ DOL

If you're after one, the dealers will move Heaven and Earth to find what you want. Mine was able to find one of 3 within a 300 mile radius that had the full time 4wd transfer case option and it made all the difference in severe weather driving. Rare option unless you build one. They likely wont know what you are talking about and try to tell you it's all the same, so you might have to show them the option. Rock-Trak Full Time 4wd on Rubicon, Select Trac on the other trims. The shifter will say 4wd auto in addition to 4wd part time, as will the gauge cluster.

Right now they should all be 15% off MSRP nationwide per Jeep's website. Maybe they don't update the stickers but if you look at the VIN of what's on the lot you should be able to find it pretty easily.

looks like the Cherokee's are well-discounted currently also

i fell like Jeep makes a good LOOKING product.  long-term reliability a little sus.

if i wanted a cheaper medium sized truck i'd look hard at the Nissan Frontier -- which is typically less than an equivalent Tacoma

The 30% dip may well have been 50% if not for the profit shredding discount program Manley and Meunier  jammed in place.

Kinda shit show after an impressive few years.

I have a 2020 JTR 6 spd and I would do it again.  Daily drive it.  61k miles or so.  Few Jeep quirks...

Had to buy some brackets off EBay because the visor mounts break and these brackets hold them on better.
Parking brake cable has disconnected from the lever twice now.  Need to fix it again.  Takes about 10-15 minutes.

Isn't it interesting how the people that don't have (or want) one don't like them, and the people that have them like them?  Perhaps the former should avoid giving their input it threads like this and leave it to the people that have actually driven one...

Dealers can’t just magically raise MSRP.  That’s a fixed price and depends on options.

Nice prices.  Makes me want a base sport to put decent 3” lift on, 37s, and TruTracs front and rear.

I sold my absolutely loaded Rubicon a while back while the gettin was good, and I miss it. I’m driving a sweet JK right now, but the “refinement” of the JT was really nice.

A “base” model Mojave would actually fit the bill nicely.

I have a 2020 Rubicon. I put 4:88 gears in it a bumper, winch, toolbox and some lights. It serves my purposes well. I don't tow heavy stuff. I carry a dog, guns, decoys and shit like that while hunting. I've been running 35x12.50x17 tires now. I'll be moving to 37s in the fall.

They might not be as capable as a wrangler, but they are more useful.

It’s a mid sized pickup truck that looks distinctive. Rides better than the leaf spring trucks.

‘21 High Altitude diesel here.  I put 33” KO2’s and Rubicon 17” wheels on for wheeling and winter.  We love it and would buy another in a second, but the diesels are no longer available.  The 3 liter TD is far superior to the 3.6.
