Bad pic from last night. Had kiddo practicing with one of the laser dry fire kits.

Really cool way to help train him on trigger control.

Talking with wife tonight about how bad Biden is, seeing him in campaign commercials it is painful, like he is barely hanging on to life. She comments yeah, he is 81 years. I says that isn't that old for some people. She says, By that point politicians should be done. Look at Joe Lieberman's age, he died from a fall. Joe could too. Trump isn't far away. None of these old fools should be in office. I said there are older people that are competent. She says even if we found a competent person that age, the stamina is an issue addressing the affairs of the nation.

Can't argue with her.

She continues surfing on her phone...

Oh, I found one we can all agree on even at 84, Chuck Norris.

Still can't argue with her.

Orange man is the only president I can recall who didn't seem to be effected by the office. It seems like most people age dramatically in their term but T money ate that shit up.

I agree that there should be an age limit or some kind of competency test though.

he wasn't affected by the office because he didn't do anything. He had people to run the show and all he did was ponce around like a fucking idiot everyday, posting stupid shit on social media.

Happy Easter to all who celebrate!
Haven't decided which knife to carry today. Toss up between the 110KS and the Sigma. Will update with pic when it happens.

Made a lidded box out of apple wood for all you drug hiders! 3 1/2 high by 3 round.
Attachment Attached File

Not sure if I posted this one yet. Bowl made out of sassafras wood. I turned and burned all the beads into it. Not happy with the markers I used for coloring. They didn't fit into the space and also didn't cover well.

Couple of quick questions:

How many steps to cleaning does the comp add? You have to remove the comp to disassemble the slide for cleaning, right?

Why the TLR7 instead of the TLR1 or HL? Plenty of holsters are available and the HL throws a good amount of light.

In fact, I cannot recall a single time she was wrong.

And to be fair, I have no idea why my wife chose me. I think she's doing penance for sins in a past life. Like kicking a bunch of puppies or something else equally awful.

I tried a few dot systems this last week.

Felt very...unnatural. My eyes did not like it. Zero issue with normal sights or no sights, but the whole dot thing messed with me. I'd have to entirely retrain myself.

Until the Man hisself makes statements confirming that claim, it's conjecture and hearsay.

Note - There is nothing wrong with Angi (other than her owner) and she is a beautiful example of what a knife should be.

MRDS on pistols does take some training and practice.
Couple of things to keep in mind:
We've all been taught for years to focus on the front sight. Target is blurry, front sight is crisp and centered in the rear sight. Rear sight is blurry. Front sight is the focus.

With optics on pistols, you actually focus on the target and do not focus on the dot.
Most people, (myself included) seem to want to focus on the dot and substitute it for the front sight. Doing this will cause you to miss the target.
Focusing on the dot will cause you to chase the target and not hit the intended point.
There is alot more visible movement with the dot vs the front sight. This will cause the shooter to "chase the bullseye" and suppress the hell out of the target instead of actually hitting the target. There is the same amount of movement as before, it just is not as visible as it is with the dot.
Many new MRDS adopters who are older seem to prefer a larger dot and then graduate to smaller dots as time goes on.
I myself have noticed that a 6 MOA is easier to find in the window than the 2 MOA dot I was using at the range yesterday.
It just requires practice to get acclimated.

One thing that is interesting to note is that most people who cannot find the dot are not presenting the handgun properly from the holster.
Proper presentation will bring the dot to the eye quickly and easily.
Improper presentation will result in people searching for the dot. It's a muscle memory thing.
Do it a bunch and you'll be finding the dot without issue.

I think this Ward was my second nice Swiss watch going a good ways back - old original logo. It was a "Military" version of the C60 of the time that was fairly different - flat black dial, flat black ceramic bezel, vintage radium style loom as opposed to the standard white.

Right, this is what I am talking about. Can't even find the big ass 32moa circle (6moa sucked, too big and blurry, it pissed me off) on the lens without looking for it and wasting time. Felt unnatural.

remove the dot system and target acquisition instant with sights.

Not sure I need to confuse my muscle memory with some new bullshit when what I have works and works well.

Hell, our lord and savior, John Moses Browning (angelic vocalization abounding) didn't even think sights were needed on pistols.

I like Sig pistols.
I like the P365.
If your P365 SAS shoots to point of aim using the abortion they designed as a "sighting system" it will be the first one I have come across.
I've seen 3 different ones, each one was off by about 7-8 inches at 10 yards.

A good video of some of the short comings regarding the TLR7

The TLR-7 Isnt a Duty Light.

I have the TLR7 on my P365 Macro. It's a decent little light, but it is not perfect.
I also have the TLR1 HL and that light does quite alot.

For most uses, the TLR7 is just fine.
Sometimes, more light is necessary.
