Niantic just made some major changes to move stats and "quick" quick attacks are back. A lot of good moves that got nerfed after the gen 2 update are good again.
Those Blissey (along with every other defender) should be a lot easier to take down now. |

Back when GoRadar was active I remember people reporting that they were getting messages from Nianitc saying if they continue to use 3rd party apps then they risk getting banned. That gym will stand forever. View Quote No, it won't. I can singlehandedly take down a Blissey of 3000CP or less with what I currently have in my 'dex. I can almost take down one of 3100+ before the timer expires. My lady friend and I are on the same team. Fighting together, we've yet to encounter a defender or a gym we couldn't take down - regardless of CP or type, or gym level. Most amusing was a Level 10 with 10 2800+ CP Snorlax. It fell in about 45 minutes and that's with attackers of several levels down, before we could really power up the shit outta the things. Blisseys are going to be counterproductive to the game in the long term: As hard as it is to train up a gym after the tweak Niantic made, a really high CP one isn't going to be defeated by a single same-team player. Therefore, the gym cannot be leveled up...and that single player won't be able to join it. You might get your team buddies to help but the odds are against it. Of course, the opposing teams can exploit this "feature" by knocking off everything but the Blissey and leaving it to twist in the wind...thereby incensing most of the other players. |

You had me nodding in agreement until I got to this part. Actually, it's significantly easier to train up a gym "after the tweak Niantic made" earlier this week. Easier to take it down too. I mean yeah, you're not going to be able to use pokmon with half it's CP to get the full 1,000 every training session, but it's not hard either if you use some ideal ones with CP's just a bit lower than the Blissey. It's certainly not impossible to level the gym up. And yeah, some people with take the gym down to as low as it can go and leave the Blissey as the only 'mon there (I do it too sometimes if I'm nowhere near collection time), but people did the same thing with Snorlax. No matter how you slice it Blissey is EASILY the best defender in the game and are definitely not "counterproductive" to strengthening a team's gym (provided someone didn't put a relatively low CP one in the bottom spot, but, again, people did the same thing with Snorlax). |

No, Blissey isn't Snorlax, but it's the closest thing we have to compare it to. The average player (which would be mid-high 20's around here) should be able to train up a gym with a high CP Blissey. Like we've said it won't be easy though. But even if the average player couldn't train up a gym with just a high CP Blissey and no open spots: how often does that really happen? Maybe where you live it's different, but around here if that happens it's usually not long before someone comes along and finishes it off. I definitely understand being frustrated trying to train up a gym facing a tank. The worst though are the really low CP tanks. Last week I trained a lvl 7 gym up to lvl 8 facing a 600 cp Snorlax. Last time I ever do that. |

It use to be it could be in the background for 20+ mins and still be open, but now it often can't make it 5 mins before it closes. |

PSA: your chances of a catching a pokemon with a curve ball and a normal throw (non-nice, great, excellent) are actually higher than if you connect with a non-curve great throw.
So if you see a 'mon you really want to catch you're always better off trying for a curve great throw. Even if you miss on the great throw you're still better off because of the curve bonus. |
