Another batch of rockets outbound, headed toward the Ofakim vicinity. I think Telegraph caught one of the rockets as it launched. I heard what I first thought was a jet and ran to the computer, only to see the smoke trail arcing across the sky.
BTW, I've actually got two different PCs going right now, each with a separate feed. |

Looks like two alien orbs floating in the sky on telegraph feed.

WTF is that in the top right corner of the Telegraph feed? Looks like a balloon. |

Gaza Live now back up with a split screen view. The smaller one is Reuters, not sure what news source the other camera comes from. But it is a decent view with good sound.
|
|
Damn. All the feeds keep switching locations faster than I can type.

Short legs on their fireworks these days…wonder how much long range ordnance they have left.
|
|
The number of rocket alerts for the day alone has now hit 43. Another barrage of short range ones have been fired at the Sderot area and points south.

They probably fire 10 short range ones for every long range one, but yesterday (or maybe last night) they cut loose at Tel Aviv and Be'er Sheva with some long range ones. Iron Dome intercepted and destroyed 2 over Tel Aviv. Not sure what happened with the other rockets. |

gaza live- was something saying "evacuate" on a loudspeaker?
edit: keep hearing again- i'm guessing that's something in hebrew for missile warnings in the towns on the border since there was just an intercept. |
|
Looks like they have a short track dirt race going on over on telegraph feed.
|
|
hearing the rocket alerts go off on the n hearing the live alert on Gaza live stream then seeing an Iron dome intercept all happen in real time in wild.

Looks like those of us ARFCOMers who are addicted to this thread will have plenty more time to maintain the addiction. We will have to teach the wife and kids how to do all the lawn work.

Carpet bomb with what? F-15/16? Maybe they will pull out some of those old B-17 that we gave them in the 40's They are going to pull back. Repair the fences and secure the perimeter. they should also continue to work on finding tunnels. |

They need a fleet of B52s. The Golani Brigade has a battalion of MLRS, so they could always just use those. Kerry was whining about proportionality, they could just start trading rocket salvo for rocket salvo and see how everyone likes that... |

PM Netanyahu promises a high tech solution to the attack tunnel threat from Gaza and on all borders Hmm I wonder if this is the solution I remember reading about that proposed digging long tunnels around the border installed with sensors that would detect any digging above or below it. http://www.i24news.tv/en/news/international/middle-east/37444-140717-israel-tests-system-to-detect-hamas-tunnels |

interesting article on the UNRWA and their bias
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2014/08/01/war-in-gaza-the-controversial-un-agency-that-found-rockets-in-its-schools/?tid=hp_mm " It begins — and, in a way, ends — with the organization’s name. Although frequently referred to in media accounts, including The Washington Post’s, as the “U.N. Relief and Works Agency,” it’s really the “U.N. Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.” And as David Horovitz, editor of the Times of Israel, wrote Thursday, the shorthand implies that the group has worldwide responsibilities, when really it does not." From the name it sounds like it deals with other matters when it's focus is solely on palestinians, makes a lot more sense when you know that considering the bs they have pulled. |

airstrikes on gaza live
this last one seems to have upset fokitty |

Bibi spoke recently, and from what I understand they're essentially in mop-up mode now.
If you're seeing/hearing more booms, apparently not all business has been completed yet. |

Just got back from shooting, I heard the speech on the radio. Danny Nisman tweeted the following
@DannyNis: Netanyahu: "The operation is basically over, except for the parts that aren't over and the parts that are over may not actually be over." |

Humidity is pretty high, feels like the midwest today I haven't been out for months, longest I've gone without in a long time. I need to do something about that, soon it was 73 degrees down in Sonoita where we went shooting. About 55 miles each way but well worth it. We can shoot out to 700 yards and nobody around but antelope. Anything on the feeds? Sounds like all the fighting is in Rafah away from the cams. |

@DannyNis: 2 targeted assassinations recorded in the past 3 hours in #Gaza. Looks like air force hunting militants who came out after army disengaged.
Payback is a bitch motherfuckers |
