Same here. Hot as balls, all the time. You guys are making me think of picking up a Harbor Freight genny big enough to run our AC. We have an EU2000i, so at least the fridge will work, but no A/C? Fuck it. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The cotton pickers and gins cannot run fast enough at this point.

A lot of the models are predicting a similar pattern as TS Allison with the landfall, hover and head back out over Houston.

A lot of the models are predicting a similar pattern as TS Allison with the landfall, hover and head back out over Houston. View Quote During Allison I had around 32 inches of rain at my house in 12 hours. It stopped raining right at dawn. The water was about 1/8 inch from actually entering my home. When looking outside at other homes all you could see was a river of moving dirty water. It took another 12 hours to recede enough to finally be able to get out of the neighborhood. My g/f lives three miles away and got four feet of water in her house. She had to actually get into her hot ass attic just to get out of the water. Cost her over 30k for the repairs. My home is completely out of the flood plain. But 32 inches of hard rain over 12 hours overwhelms everything. I have purchased flood insurance every year since that event. |

Looks like we will stay dry in the San Antonio area.
Sucks to be Houston. |

Good site for watching what's happening. http://spaghettimodels.com/

Careful what you wish for. 24" + of rain is no joke in the Houston area and what storm surge you are supposed to get might get trapped inland for a while.
From what I understand Harvey or what is left of it is supposed to set and spin around Houston and dump huge amounts of rain in the area. |

Generator, chainsaw, 4 wheel drive truck, lanterns. Bring it.
I'm on the clean up team this year. No more ride out duty at the hospital. Fuck sleeping on the floor in the storage room and eating canned ravioli for three days. |

So if a good sized hurricane hits Houston, will that push all of the Katrina trash back to LA and make Houston great again?

Read the Amperage rating on the fridge and subtract from 13.5 (the 2000 will output 14 amps continuous) then get a window shaker at that amperage. My Honda 2000 ran my side by side fridge and a 9K BTU window shaker for 5 days straight back in '05. Just set the AC on it's coldest setting so it doesn't cycle the compressor on and off. Well I hope it's not too bad for many reasons.
I've got a big family trip to Port A set for end of September. My FIL's 80th B Day bash. Big condo rented and already have the fishing guide set up. We were just down at Corpus Christi area looking at pontential areas we want live in for retirement in a few years. |

What day is it expected to get sporty in Houston? Local stores are well stocked right now, however this afternoon might be a different story. Go early!
We went through Rita and Ike in Jefferson County and this potential storm has us more worried because there's so much unknown. Models are everywhere and keep changing along with strength predictions. |

This is nothing. What about that megastorm from the other thread? View Quote Those folks get worked up if they see one cloud over water in the summer near Zuluzulu and automatically assume it's a Cat 5 twisterquake headed right for NOLA and folks are getting on the rooftops to shoot at the coasties Cable tv and internet is great, but it sure does fuel panic and speculation. I remember in the 80's everyone went about their business when hurricanes came. This was 100's of miles inland. Now it's like locusts hit the grocery stores |
