As a Houston resident, who just moved back after 10 years away - bring it on. View Quote My buddy in Sugarland didn't have power for a month. <shrug> Buy water now. And fill every gas can you own. If you can't fill your tank from cans, go buy more cans now. 48 hours out every gas station in town will be on empty tanks and every store shelf cleaned of water. |

Looks like a lot of the Texas coast is sporting near 90* water. http://www.ospo.noaa.gov/data/ocean/ohc/images/sst_naQG3_ddc.gif View Quote |

I'm in TX on business (Dallas and Lubbock). I sure hope that I don't get trapped here. I'm supposed to go home Friday.

I'm on the TX/LA border. I appreciate the heads up. Just moved into a new house and don't have all the preps set. Once the wife gets home from work, I'll go make another food and fuel run. Probably a good thing to do anyways for the new house. But I'm really missing my standby, auto-switching, whole house natural gas genny now though.

So how much rain will liberty,MS get from now until Saturday at noon?
We need a Cola Warrior forecast. |

Maybe it'll hit corpus and wash away some of the scum down there.
Damnit, i was supposed to go offshore fishing this weekend. Might still be a bit rough |

Houston has poor drainage as it is about 2' above sea level from one end to another. Nice, hardworking people. But a 3" rain and underpasses flood. View Quote |

We need some rain in central TX. Let's hope it takes a more central track.

The worst side to be on is east side of the storm right? So even if it missed Houston they'll get hammered with rain and surge?

I think this will be more a rain event than anything. Little wind along the coast but I'm not liking the flood potential. Fuck we flooded last August and are still unpacking boxes after the rebuild. This bastard will be slow-moving and that worries me. Good luck everyone.

Yeah, well I was in the dark for 3 weeks and couldn't get gas anywhere for the generator (or vehicles for that matter). I'd rather not do that again anytime soon. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes |

If it plays out right, we'll have a hurricane party and a few days off work. View Quote If it goes wrong and hits houston or slightly west of it, then I will make a lot of money but the caveat is no sleep. Maybe 4 hours a night. Fuck that. |

and, no ac when I'm sleeping.
I have a generator to run the essentials but not ac. Those saying come at me bro, |
