You're asking a damn high amount for a scope mount that you just can't wait to "dump".

Why is that I wonder?

teeli isn't the one selling that.  I've seen a huge jump in used LaRue mounts for sell on FB recently too.  Prices range from insanely low to insanely high.

Meh.  I have Larue and just got an ADM mount.  The ADM mount is nice, but I'm not too happy with the lever adjustment.  It seems either too loose or too light on one of the levers.

I prefer Laure for overall quality.

And hey, we just happen to make the QD lever mount for it.  It being the most expensive optic device we know of to be military issue.  The Hubble barely beats it in clarity.

The curious question is why was something with this sort of price point recently fielded / spec'd for a DOD contract ...

Still wish there was a wider portion of the "rib" in between the rings to give a nice wide flat spot left to right on these things to get a good landing spot for the feeler gauge.

If I'm going to have a 2500 dollar scope on a 4000 dollar rifle, I prefer to have my OCD met and know its in there properly

Are you really asking "why" with something the .mil does? I've never sold them anything or been involved with selling them anything and I know better than to ask "why".

The same as the TA60 mount, 1.660" and for a TA33.

TA33, height from top of picatinny to bottom of valley, .522" which should put the center of the optic at 1.660".  Fixed mount, no huge knobs, under an ounce if possible.

Pretty much.

With slick allen wrench mounts.
the issue mount is what most of us grow up on and look to replicate.  only without the stupid knobs.

99.9% of folks don't swap optics.  optics cost more than the upper in many cases.

As noted, I would recommend mirroring the issue TA mount height.  If for no other reason than it works and its what we become use to.  Then we want to go more sexy.

For the record, I am neither team Mark nor team Bill.  I kinda swing both ways.

Same here.  The mount looks like top notch quality but I can't personally justify it at that price point.
