Not long after, he began to notice uncanny similarities between the dream and real world events happening to Christians in the news as if the dream was giving predictions of the future. Grant felt led to turn the dream into a piece of Christian fiction that would grab people's attention, so they would understand the dire warning of coming persecution, before it's too late. That story is called The Glimpse, and its is for youth, young adults, parents, church leaders and the Christian Church at large. Its message is for you." Much more in description.

In doing so they will create the largest man-made lake in the world. Nothing like it has ever been built.
Life and Death at Hoover Dam tells the story of a handful of these men and the sacrifices they endured. From choking on gasoline fumes in 120-degree heat inside the five-stories-tall diversion tunnels to dangling by slender cables from the thousand-foot walls of Black Canyon, they will put their lives at risk. In the end, these men and the 20,000 others who worked on the dam will build a monument that makes possible the palm trees of Los Angeles and the desert oasis of Phoenix. This is the story of their lives—the men who built the matchless Hoover Dam."

She Flew Bombers (She Built Ships During WW II) 270 P
"This well-written and fast-paced book chronicles the history of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. Women pilots were an exotic an unappreciated item during WWII, and as such, had to fight their own battles against gender discrimination before it became a problem. The same was not true of Russian women pilots. These "Night Witches" were extraordinary women combat pilots and were called that because they made their aerial raids under cover of darkness, bombing the Germans at night. The women pilots flew over 77 types of aircraft, to 134 US army bases, for the exclusive usage of their male counterparts. The heroine's passion for flying is documented from her first experience as a young girl from going on a flight with a California barnstormer to joining the WASP and encountering gender discrimination, death, and sabotage. Little seems to be written about this heroic group of women who, through their entire existence, did not achieve military status until 1977. The obstacles and biases they managed to overcome as women pilots during their service to our country are expertly put to paper by author Jeane Slone. Written with humor, emotion, and accuracy, this film-worthy story will be enjoyed by anyone interested in military and aviation history, a plain good book, or a fast read. She Flew Bombers, second edition, won the 2012 Indie Book Award."

The Neighborhood you never want to live in.'

Joshua..324 P

Then there was the boy that he found along the way, an orphan with no place to go. He couldn’t leave the child behind; that would be murder. Together they had to make their way across the razed landscape of post collapse America, west to where there was safety, a chance to begin again. If only they survived the journey."

Wildlife Wars The Life and Times of a Fish and Game Warden...308 P
"In Wildlife Wars: The Life and Times of a Fish and Game Warden, Terry Grosz serves up fascinating stories—alternately hair-raising, hilarious, and heart-wrenching—from his 30-year struggle to protect wildlife in America. A natural storyteller, Grosz writes about the remarkable characters he met—on both sides of the law—as he matched wits with elk poachers, salmon snaggers, commercial-market duck hunters, and a host of other law-breakers. Best of all, though, these stories are so remarkably entertaining you won’t want to put them down."

Tuesday Update:

A Death On The Wolf ...343 P
"WINNER in the Kindle Book Review's 2012 "Best Indie Books" contest for literary fiction.
For Nelson Gody, the summer of 1969, the summer he would turn sixteen, began as all his past summers had. Life on his family's small farm outside Bells Ferry, Mississippi, was safe and routine: chores, taking care of his little sister, working at a local gas station, swimming in the Wolf River with his best friend--his world was familiar and predictable. All that would change as young Nelson experiences his first love, wrestles with the secret his best friend has been hiding, and meets a mysterious stranger who appears one day on an exotic motorcycle called the Black Shadow. Capped by the devastating effects of hurricane Camille, the events of that summer ensured that life as Nelson knew it would never be the same again."

A Very Good Man (Dead End) 329P
"At the end of the world Jake struggles to keep the people close to him, a group of strangers, alive. It isn't as easy as it sounds, since most of them are more than a bit stuck in the old world. But the luxury and laxity of that time has gone forever. And Jake is the only person strong enough to keep them all in line. Leaving him hated and reviled. What they don't know about Jake is how kind and special he truly is, A Very Good Man, come to help them all survive. Even if they he has to kill them to do it."

Dawn of Destiny (Epic) 312 P
"Some men go to war for the glory. Some men go to war to escape. For Scott Remington, war is entirely different. It is a belief. It is a calling. It is a destiny. Leaving everything behind-his fiancée, his future, his life-he embarks on a mission of faith into a battle he can barely understand. This is his story. This is his war. This is only the beginning."

Psychotronic Warfare: How They Control Your Mind ...204 P
"Imagine you are in the middle of a crowd protesting against your latest government’s decision of depriving you of an essential component of your life–be it your freedom of speech, your freedom of choosing your spouse, your right to vote, or any other rights.
…You shout, put up posters, and deliver speeches… And suddenly you and all around you–could be tens of thousands–fall to the ground. Not killed. Not wounded. Just… fallen asleep.
You all sleep for as long as it takes for you to become very thirsty, very hungry, and very weak. Then you all wake up one by one and… go home.
Guess what: psychotronic weapons have just been used against you.
...So, will you take part in the demonstration next time? Probably not. "

Puddly The Penguin..178 P
"A young penguin and a young dolphin both lose their way. And find each other. But can they help each other get back home?
Filled with humor and heart, “Puddly the Penguin” is an uplifting and inspiring story for all ages. Written by Bryant Oden, whose funny Songdrops songs, such as "Best Friends Forever", "I Got a Pea", "Tarantulas", "Before I Could Rhyme", and the viral sensation "The Duck Song", have 250 million views on YouTube. "

Impact Player: Leaving a Lasting Legacy On and Off the Field ...298 P
"Former Yankee Bobby Richardson played alongside Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Whitey Ford, Joe Pepitone, and Yogi Berra during one of the most prolific dynasties in baseball history, and he remains to this day the only player from the losing team ever to be named World Series MVP.
In Impact Player, Bobby shares his life story, including never-before-told tales from the Yankee clubhouse during the historic ’55-’65 pennant runs and World Series appearances. The book also features the unlikely friendship Richardson, a devout and outspoken Christian, shared with Yankee legend and renowned drinker and womanizer, Mickey Mantle.
The perfect combination of faith and baseball, Impact Player offers a rare glimpse into one of the most celebrated dynasties in the history of the game, and it paints a fascinating portrait of a life well-lived and the lasting rewards that come from knowing and loving God."

Curbchek-Reload: Curbchek's darker meaner cousin ...272 P
"Curbchek-Reload is the third True Crime account written by
Zach Fortier. Like the two previous books, Curbchek and Streetcreds, it is
based on real events that happened to Zach Fortier during a thirty year career
in Law Enforcement. Curbchek-Reload is a dark account of the final years of
Zach's time spent as a cop, He is damaged and paranoid.  Having survived frequent life and death
battles. He is taking dangerous risks and pushing himself to the limits.  Sprinkled with humorous events to
lighten the razors edge descriptions of
the daily shootings, stabbings and, rapes,  Curbchek Reload has the highest rating of any of Zach Fortier's
books.   If you like your true crime edgy and dark take a look at
Curbchek-Reload. You will not be disappointed."

Yellow Green Beret Volume III: Stories of an Asian-American Stumbling Around U.S. Army Special Forces (Yellow Green Beret : Stories of an Asian-American Stumbling Around U.S. Army Special Forces) 324 P
"As the final tome in the three-part series depicting the off-color and unusual stories that highlighted Chester Wong’s uncharacteristic career as a detachment commander in the U.S. Army Special Forces, Yellow Green Beret: Volume III is a considerably more serious account almost devoid of the trademark goofy and comical stories that were speckled amongst the first two books. In many ways, Yellow Green Beret: Volume III is a true and honest revelation regarding the darkest sides of Chester Wong’s path and experiences as an unsure West Point cadet on his way becoming a leader in one of wartime America’s most elite and cutting edge counterterrorist forces. Truly the final pillar in the house called Wong, Yellow Green Beret: Volume III leaves no stone unturned in piecing together the coming-of-age journey of an unusual Asian-American young man."

The Coffeeist Manifesto: No More Bad Coffee! ...168 P
"I, too, was a coffee zombie, walking around calling myself a coffee lover. For years I stumbled around in a daze drinking stale, bitter coffee and grumbling “beans… beans…”. Thank Goodness I finally woke up to the world of coffee. By Immersing myself in the coffee world via reading every book I could find, visiting trade fairs, every high-end cafe I could find, and barista competitions, I realized that, while there is a huge amount of information out there free on the Internet and in artisan coffee shops, there was no single resource that connects all the dots and spells it all out for confused novice coffee drinkers.

Until now."  mid

I have seen it on the top 100 free list recently though, so it may well have been free when the post was made. Usually free books only stay free for a short time, often 24 hours.

It did not look all that interesting to me so I did not include it in any of my posts.

Nothing fresh in the way of general interest stuff on the top 100 list today.

However, a couple new food preservation books popped up.

I want you to keep as much of your stuff as possible while paying as little as possible of your own hard-earned cash.  Most books that claim to be about getting out of debt are really just about good old-fashioned financial prudence.  This one is not.  It's too late for that now. Time for your bailout."

Why is she forced to live a life of anger and grief? Amid a million questions she cannot answer, Evelyn knows this murderer must be punished for his crime. Before it all, she was a successful attorney who won all the hard cases. Now that the case is personal, Evelyn will stop at nothing to seek her own version of justice. When another girl goes missing, Evelyn plows forward, ignoring the warnings from police detectives, the pleas of her grief-stricken husband, and the strange, almost supernatural tingles that tug at her. But as she follows the stench of evil, Evelyn learns that the hardest thing she will have to face may not be the death of her child after all. Perhaps the harder lesson is this: the ultimate truth--of crime and verdict, of life and death--cannot be swayed by a mother's revenge.
In this first book of a new, page-turning series, a woman will be brought to her limits before she finally recognizes and reconnects with the source of true peace."

"Santa, I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions so that I can be as sure about you now as I was way back when I was little. You know it's easy to be sure of stuff when you don't wonder so hard about it. When you wonder too much all this extra stuff jumps in. Anyway, I think because I'm ten now, you know, double digits, well maybe the wonder in me is different somehow. Maybe it's working more - like overtime. Maybe it's growing up too."
When Santa quickly answers all of Jacob's questions using a wonderfully straightforward, yet amusing approach, Jacob in turn responds effortlessly with a full-fledged inquiry only a ten year old could construct: "

The tranquility of daily life in the valley is disrupted when Lucifer finds a way out of the depths. He simply quits his job as the devil, packs his bags, and heads for Florida.
Pandemonium erupts in the valley when, without the devil to keep things in check, various demons find their way out of Hell and wander into Brandell.

Federal Agent Roger Quarston can’t know that investigating some ancient, blood stained manuscripts will lead him to this same Melchizedek - whose revelation will threaten allegiances, challenge faiths, crack political foundations, enliven ancient dynasties, and open the promise of immortality and unimagined power."

It reads like a thriller, with a cast of vivid characters, even as it puts forward a bold approach to effective counterinsurgency operations and makes a compelling case for change. Avoiding checklists and formulas, it teaches leaders how to think and how to develop the mental courage to learn, adapt, and make decisions in the face of a deadly and resilient enemy. An innovative tool for developing in peacetime the mental agility and adaptability our leaders need in combat."

Occupation ...298 P
"Are you ready for vampires to regain their standing in the genre? Are you ready for them to stop "sparkling" and take on a worthy opponent? Then wait no longer. This book will satisfy even the most "bloodythirsty" appetites with an added twist; one of the clans is able to release a very nasty bacteria into their respective hosts which after ninety days or so unleashes a very ghoulish end to the recipients. The Third Reich has occupied Poland!  The plan of "relocating" the population is well underway with one problem the Germans could never have imagined. Unknowingly, they are removing the food supply of the Romanov and Boirarsky vampire clans. Needless to say, they do not care for each other at
all. Too much bad blood has been spilled over the past centuries. Will they be able to unite and take on the true enemy--the Third Reich, or will they perish as the food supply quickly diminishes? "Evil never tasted so Good!"

Other zombie guides offer you general information covering a wide range of topics. Where did zombies come from? What causes them to reanimate? This volume is unconcerned with those questions. The focus here is not what caused them to rise, but instead how to destroy them and which tools will help you do so. When the world ends, you must become a warrior. You will have no other choice."

THE AMERICAN STORYBAG ...154 pages
"The stories in THE AMERICAN STORYBAG are a fleeting yet incisive look at American life, primarily on the road, but sometimes on or in the water, and have been collected by Gerald Hausman since 1965. Some of the tales are very brief and may be called "sudden stories". Many of them deal with human survival - an autistic boy lost in a trackless swamp; a young woman who falls in love with a supernatural creature; a young man who finds himself by finding his horse. Some of the tales are mere messages left on a cell phone. Others, like the story "Bimini Blue" tell about a Navajo healing ceremony given to a famous author who committed suicide. There are stories of ghosts, demons, fearsome predators, and wise old men who take the innocent in hand and lead them on the road to wisdom. These are tales of innocence and anguish, fantasy and fable, "

When the dead begin to rise from their graves and tear apart the very fabric of civilization, a special government-sponsored strike team known as the Crypto-Squad is created, and Tillman is put in charge. Comprised of beasts that are the stuff of rumor and legend, the Crypto-Squad’s mission is to eradicate a group of doomsday cultists who refer to themselves as The Unending. Refusing to accept defeat and determined to save those who are left alive, Tillman mobilizes this ragtag band of misfits, realizing that they are the world’s last remaining hope. Led by the Mothman, the Crypto-Squad is made up of El Chupacabra, The Jersey Devil, Sasquatch from various tribes, Mongolian Death Worms, and more. As the legions of undead march across country, devouring what remains of America, the lives of millions rest in the hands of this dangerous group of rogue beasts. Eric S. Brown and Jason Brannon’s Crypto-Squad is a mix of monsters, covert operatives, cultists, and the undead. This is the zombie apocalypse as you’ve never experienced it before!"
