I don't think 50#s would even be challenging though.

You need to move up to 62#s.

So how many are you getting out of 500 with that 62# again?

308.

I don't think 50#s would even be challenging though.

Says the man who hasn't tried it and can't do the 62s.

I don't treat the kb swings as a strength exercise, it's conditioning.  Do a lot, fast, without rest and slip the strength training in with it.  I guess the question is are you meeting goals better by getting fewer swings and heavy weights or more swing with lighter weights? With 50lbs and other lifts I can get myself smoked enough in an hour to need a few minutes just to walk to the car. That seems to be meeting my needs just fine.

I need to start sprinting too.  The ghetto gym has a prowler, but not a good place to use it.  Maybe I should go to whacking the tractor tire with hammers and baseball bats.

I could do 500. I just get bored from swinging it so many times. The rep system in the program would take forever.

The swings don't bother my wrists at all since they stay in a neutral position the whole time.  Those issues (mostly in the past except for arthritis) are why my grip isn't currently as strong as it maybe could be...but I can tell this is helping with that too.

When you try a kipping swing with that boat anchor have your wife take a picture of your detached arms laying on the ground holding the bell.

I bet I could do a kipping swing with a 15lber....  [;D

In week two of this workout with a 45# bell. Workout times have gone from 44 to 28 minutes in six workouts. This thing is a conditioning beast.

Will probably move up to a 55# bell in week three or four and go from there.

It does get a little boring, but I play loud rage tunes while I do it, so that helps.

Looking forward to seeing what my run time is for a three mile run in my hilly neighborhood when I finish week five. Right now its just under 27 minutes.

Nice job KaiK.  That's a hell of a lot of work.  How long did it take you?  It will be interesting to see how fast you get at that after a month of it.

My conditioning was in horrible shape when I started, and after a week and a half I did 1.5mi on the treadmill yesterday, after squats, at 6.5mph and another quarter at 7.2mph.  No way I was doing that a few weeks back.  Seems pretty gentle on my knee too so it's doing better all the time.

The stuff from Walmart is better than CAP.  I would not spend money on them, having done a few thousand swings with the CAP and with another brand that 'may' be Rogue.  If it's not it still has the larger handle like Rogue.

I'm 750 swing down for the week right now, spent a bunch of time traveling and being up late, so yesterday I was completely gassed after half a workout.  Got a few hours of sleep last night, hopefully sleep tonight and get all 750 swings tomorrow to stay on track.

Here's what I got tonight. I'm not doing more than 10 sets again. It's just silly.

Ignore run time. It made me put a time in. I did 2 half mile runs between sets. I was going to do more but it got dark.

I did a few swings with the 70lb-er, not bad.  Hits the core a lot more and my hands were already tired, but I thought it would be harder on the shoulder and back, but not really.  If I had better access to one I'd probably do at least 100 of the 500/day with the 70lb.

Now I need to find some good accessory lifts to mix with swings that don't include the knees.  I've got to take it easy on the knee for 3 weeks, although I think I can probably do some reduced weight after two weeks.

So, no deads, squats, lunges, cleans, box jumps....

What I've been doing for upper body is bench, strict press, dips and pull ups.

I'm thinking ab wheel?  Maybe swallow some pride and do curls?  Any good band pulls? I do the band pull shoulder series quite a bit, but I need something I can do a bunch of, I typically get 50 reps of whatever move.  Maybe some other good core/ab work, leg lifts in a Roman chair?

500 swings with 50 bench press @ 165 (10lb increase) and 50 strict press at 105lbs.  I forgot my timer on the first set, but finished the second in 18min.  They hurt the knee at first but once I was warm it was no big deal.  Doc said I can scale what I do with the knee based on pain, so I might give it a week and start using it again.

Just finished week two. Started with the 55lb today. Had to take longer breaks because my grip was smoked, especially the last 200 reps. 38 minutes.

You 70lb guys are scaring me, yet, I am intrigued. I can see getting up to using that weight by week five, at least mixed in. Sounds cool.

I think its the bench presses and strict presses more than swings, 50 of each along with the 500 swings.  Just not bouncing back today.

Almost tossed a 35lb dumbbell across the garage today doing some cheater flys after the swing workout with the 55 pounder. Also did 100 dips and 30 pullups with the swings. Had no grip strength at the end of it all and just about put a hole through the wall. I hope I get Popeye forearms from all of this.

I have a hard time getting 50 pull-ups with the swings because of grip.  And yeah, getting Popeye arms for sure.

Did swings with 50 ab wheels and 50 35lb weighted back extensions today.  That sucked, but finished the first set in 20min and second in 18, then 1.75mi on the treadmill.

Nice. Agree on the pullups. The form on my last ten was...interesting. Day off today. Five mile ruck and no swingin'.

Anyone use the Rouge power pin instead of KB's?

I was stupid and overdid my 5mi ruck yesterday. Instead of being smart and just cruising along with a 25# pack at a leisurely pace to stop and smell the evergreens, I loaded the ruck to 50# and carried a 15# steel bar in my hands. Time was 66:35 and I was smoked. Felt it today, big time. What a dumbass.

I am also doing some intermittent fasting with a 16hr period between last meal of the day and first meal of the next day. Thus, my workouts are happening before I eat, which can be interesting. Coffee is my friend.

48min today with the 55lb and goblet squats. Nothing else. Pretty smoked from yesterday and just didn't have the energy. Gonna eat a lot of protein and drink beaucoup water all day to prep for tomorrow's session with pullups.

I did add a little Larry Craig adjustment today and widened my stance as well as point the toes out a little more. Crazy more power coming up and less strain on the grip. Or maybe the workout is working. I have no idea...

Is that a bad thing? Having a tough time finding KB's that fit both hands without
the pinkies hanging off
