Still hoping for some ACR owner to post a comparison photo of the ACR barrel next to a stripped midlength gas AR barrel.

The ACR is looking better and better.
People, please quite complaining that it doesn't take AR barrels, bolts, etc. If you want something to use AR parts on, buy a damn AR. I'm sick of hearing "but I have this tired ass shot to hell gunshow special no name ultra heavy 28" barrel for an AR propping up my mobile home and if I can't use it on an ACR then I don't want it". Okay. Great. Thanks. Moving on. $2300 is not that high. By the time you buy a quality AR and throw a bunch of shit on it you are going to be near $2K. |

It's a real nice looking rifle, and I'm glad you like it so much.
I had money down for one at the gun store a while ago but I decided to stop waiting for the ACR and put it toward an XCR instead. I haven't looked back and I don't regret it. Are you familiar with the XCR at all? If so, can you compare them? I am also curious if the bolt release is really a direct copy as Robinson was/is claiming. -K |

So why isn't the ACR being sold with a folding stock? It took so long to come out that I quit following it....

I donp;t care about using AR parts on it (though I WOULD like to use AR grips on it), but the stock barrel belongs on a sub-$1000 gun. get rid of the M203 cut-out and gimme some 1/7!!! $2300 is not that high. By the time you buy a quality AR and throw a bunch of shit on it you are going to be near $2K.
If it was $2300 for the ENHANCED version (and it had a 1/7 barrel) I'd agree. But this is the trailer-park edition... no folding stock and no railed handguards. Also, personally, I'd want something better than teh MBUS sights. The enhanced version is gonna be over $2500.... probably more like $2800. For a BUSHMASTER. |
|
Nice Ghetto thanks for the AAR. I'll admit the ACR is not for me, not to mention it is priced out of my reach, but the internals, the actual bolt carrier assembly, barrel, trunnion and gas piston assembly are a work of art in my opinion. Actually I feel the same about the FN as well.
Keep us updated Oh yeah, some high detail close ups of the internals would be awesome if you're so inclined. |
|
I'll be buying one.
All I'm waiting for is 1) the price to settle down after it has been on the market for a little 2) the "aftermarket" to catch up so barrel/stocks options are available (1/7, NFA lengths, etc) 3) caliber conversion kits (5,45x39, 7.62x39, 6.8SPC) are out 4) All the bugs are worked out (I remember the problems FN had with the FS2000) |
