Both CNN and Fox had reporters on the ground talking about this, and BOTH reporters said that of the people they talked to who wanted to switch their votes it was about 50/50.  Half of those who wished they could switch their vote to Dem, an half who voted Dem who said the bodyslam made them want to switch their vote to the Republican!!!!

Even if they hadn't I still don't see how this is going to hurt him much.  For most Trump voters in Montana, I would bet kicking the ass of an obnoxious Leftist reporter is a resume builder, not a disqualification.

Yeah, the smelly hippies at the U of M won't vote for him, nor will the granolas at MSU.  And the wealthy eastern/Californian carpetbaggers up at Whitefish will be positively aghast.  But in my experience most native Montanans won't have  problem with it.

And the quickest way to determine how the vote is going is checking out cnn.com.  If the election results are in any way, shape, or form bad for Gianforte the MSM will have it at the top of their webpages.

If he's winning, it will be a small story in the "US News" section.

That's actually a good thing:  The MSM won't say a word about the election if he is ahead.

And you won't hear any election results come from State officials until after the polls close at 8pm MDT.

I "watched" the "video" last night. Actually, it was audio played behind a still photo. So I listened extra hard. Came away with a couple of things. Read down to the bottom for my conclusions. Right here and right now, I can tell you that the 'reporter' was already making clear in the recording that he was looking to call the police. Any charges filed against Bodyslam Greg will be the results of that. If a citizen (or, in this case, sewer rat) files a complaint and affirms that it will show up in court, the cops have to file. They've got leeway in what.

As far as your nonsensical 'crickets' claim, what I'm seeing is people addressing you. Perhaps willful blindness has set in?

What's heard on the tape is only the end (for now) of the story. You can hear Gianforte in the recording speaking of the other instances. Just before the physical altercation, he can be heard talking about how the reporter's friend pulled the same shit, and then asking, "you're from the Guardian?" then talking about how that's what Guardian reporters do.

It's pretty clear that, at this point, after multiple confrontations with Guardian reporters who all follow the same playbook, he's tired of their shit.

And woe be unto you if you're close enough to a wrestler when he's tired of your shit. The mere fact that he was so easily grabbed is testament that the reporter was way too close to be acting anything but too aggressively.

It happened pretty quick. OTOH, the reporter's voice didn't sound like somebody who'd just been properly bodyslammed. Way too smooth and with no trace of breathlessness. You also don't hear anybody respond to his requests for recognition.

When warned away, he doubles down, sublimely confident in the totally theoretical immunity from consequence granted him by his status as 'reporter'. In a totally unexpected turn of events, his mythical reporter shield failed, and the victim of his nonsense clouded up and rained all over him.

Other reporters, terrified that the false invulnerability of reporter shields might be compromised, initially side with him, only to walk back their statements later.

Pissant reporter files charges, which the leftosphere triumphantly portray as the police deciding that the uncooperative victim was in the wrong.

Vast hordes of people also tired of the shit reporters shovel applaud the pol for not putting up with it, while other hordes of people who don't like the side the pol is on lament over uncivil treatment (0r the support of it) towards reptilian and uncivil shitbags who rely on the restraint of others so as not to have to exercise any of their own.

I voted at lunch today and asked the lady poll worker how the turn-out seemed to her and she said about the same as last Nov.

Hopefully republicans realize that the key to victory is being accused of assault by a fake news reporter. I'd like to see a reelection campaign that starts with a candidate reenacting the Neegan baseball bat scene from the walking dead using the press pool for batting practice.

This election is a sign that the democrat party is finished, they are so hated and distrusted that even a man who was just accused of assault gets more votes then a democrat.
