This is my face when I see a picture of an AR laying on the ground with the magazine inserted, selector on fire. http://i57.tinypic.com/16k4yol.jpg Please follow the basic firearms safety rules. The selector should be on safe. And don't give me thisismysafety.jpg, you're ARFCOM, your weapon should be on safe. View Quote Op, worry about yourself and those around you. You know absolutely dick about the condition of a firearm from a picture. Is there a round in the chamber? Is there a bcg in the gun? Is there a bolt in the bcg? Is there a firing pin in the bolt? You know absolutely dick and the mere fact that they are posting the picture shows that they likely didn't get shot or shoot someone else so it all worked out. I see Smitro is still mad about me quoting his post where he ironically exclaims how humbling it was to have an ND.
Whenever Smitro randomly makes his accusatory homophobic outbursts in this thread, I think to myself, "Wow, I wonder what makes his little safety violator brain work like that?" Science will tell us. |

Reading through this thread caused me to start storing my rifles on safe. It's all upside with no downside.

I store all my rifles on safe with the exception of my M-1 Garands, I keep the trigger groups "unlocked" because, I don't compress the wood making the trigger groups loose

Today, I am thankful for lots of things, safety science and scientist among them. I dream that one day all types of people, even the dumb ones, will come to appreciate not accidentally shooting people and things. And here is a video about dreams. http://youtu.be/KH7j185hotE View Quote I have a dream that one day ARFCOM will rise up and live out the true meaning of the safety rules: "We hold these safety rules to be self-evident, that all weapons are handled safely." I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former safety violators and the sons of common sense safety advocates will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the website ARFCOM, a website sweltering with the heat of unsafe weapons handling, sweltering with the heat of sloppy habits, will be transformed into an oasis of safety and professional weapons handling. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live on an ARFCOM where they will be judged by the correct position of their AR's safety. I have a dream today! |

It is almost as if putting the selector on fire and pulling the trigger has the potential to fire the weapon. Interesting. |

You should MYOFB. You sound like a liberal. View Quote Incorrect, the more firearms owners act in a responsible and safe manner = fewer negligent discharges. Fewer negligent discharges = fewer opportunities for those who would seek to restrict our freedom to own firearms and spread slander on the news about how dangerous gun ownership is. Safer = more freedom. Do you hate freedom? |
