Well now that the weather has cooled down and I can tolerate being in my reloading/gun outbuilding again. I cleaned 100 rounds each of .223 and .308 they are drying now. Hopefully tomorrow I can finish processing them and get them loaded.

Now tinkering with mounting my 3D printed bullet feeder, etc. |

Bulge busted about 1k cases of 45acp through the APP. 45acp not feeding through the APP as well as in the past. More attention/interaction needed on my part to get cases feed correctly.

The weather is getting cool around here in the evening, so I’ve been sorting brass out in the garage.

Testing some 69 & 77gr SMK’s for the 26” AR. It doesn’t like them much. I think I’ll start at 52 or 55gr, whatever I have on hand and keep trying. 1 1/2 - 2” groups at 100 yards from a WOA heavy stainless barrel is disgusting.

Learned to read/research moar before I whip out my wallet, LOL! Just received 2 boxes of Hornady .224 ELD Match, 75 gr. Beautiful bullet! Super long ogive though. Took down to reloading bench and pulled my Hornady book first to check powder load and COAL as I always try to look at bullet manufacturer AND powder manufacturer to ensure one isn't wildly out of range of the other. Wait, what's that under the picture of the 75 gr ELD? Why, the COAL is 2.390 versus 2.250. That seems like a lot, I thought to myself. This is in the .223 service rifle section, mind you. Well, on the opening page of that section, there is one sentence that states the 75 is an excellent choice for SINGLE shot and cannot be loaded to magazine length. Sadly, I don't have a bolt gun. Single loading for an AR isn't that much fun. BTW, the 73 gr ELDs can be loaded to 2.250

Reloading-related:
My benchtop brass catcher disappointed me on my last range trip. I couldn't get it positioned next to the rifle properly because the rifle had to be so back on the bench. The rear support didn't have enough support itself. So today I've been pondering how to work around this. Lots of details spinning through my head at the moment. I also decided that the long flex shaft for the windage cradle on my front rest is more of a pain than helpful - it has enough springiness that likes to turn the cradle until I put a rifle in it. So I found a modification online that does away with the shaft and puts the windage knob on the cradle itself. It takes finding a specific fastener to replace the end of the flex shaft, which was a pain, but I got it! I'm planning another range trip next week (since I have the time then), so I'm working out what to take, what to test, and so on. With the brass catcher not being 100%, I may go with my bolt action rifles. I don't like giving away my brass. |

I’m working out my own scale shelf - one that will have both my balance and my GemPro scale on it, with space for my trickler as well. Today I’m pretty much done examining the brass from Monday’s range trip. I wanted to make sure that, compared to factory, actual GI rounds, my hand loads showed comparable or less primer changes. Yep, they checked out. So later I’m going to get rid of those primers. Added: Here are pictures of the primers on the factory (XM193 from 2013) and my hand loads: Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Note the different forms of the "3" in the LC13 brass - both from the same box. Odd, eh? The round with the single black stripe is my starting load, while the one with the red X is the max load. And these cases have a different form of "9" as well... Anyway, none of the primers looked at all worrisome, so they're all getting popped out later. I’m also going to segregate this brass so I can keep an eye on where the shoulder winds up after firing in this particular rifle. I’ve been told that it can take up to four firings in the same chamber to actually have the case expand all the way to fill the chamber. Added: I'm probably going to do all my measurements first, then separately wet tumble these cases so I can keep 'em together but I'll do it. For science! |

Shot my first ever 9mm reloads.
115 berrys Fed small pistol Mag primers 5.5-6.4 grains HS-6 All loads functioned fine and didn’t show any pressure signs. I’ll probably settle on 6.0 just for plinking. |

I smelted about 1200-1400 lbs of wheel weights (no steel, no zinc) over the past week or so. Then melted down a bunch of babbitt and some other lead alloys. Also melted down some old organ pipes. Then sorted/organized, and then got to haul it all to my storage area. Moved about a full ton of future bullet making materials over a couple days- it sucked. Also had to fight the weather repeatedly.
Then I went and swapped out the propane tanks for full ones. Spent about $75 on propane for just all that. Also sorted thru a lot of my misc range pickup large rifle brass, looking for 7mm mag casings, to trade back for some 6.5 x 55 stuff my kid had received via my dad. Later learned the other guy didn’t even have a 7mm....so why was it in the list of stuff he could use that I got from my dad!!!! Some days you just spin your wheels... |

A buddy of mine got a deer depredation permit and I get to do the culling. I loaded up some 95 grain SSTs with 33 grains of IMR 4895 for my T3 in 243. Shots are in his bottom land where his garden is, so max ~120 yards or so. Should be just what the Dr ordered for these small southern deer.

Modified an existing STL for a Dillon RL650 for a spent primer drop to work on my SL900 (enlarged the hole and nipple on the end). Got the tubing and stuff today and got it attached. Primer drops no problem.

Spent some time in the shed but quality time it wasn't! I separated some 38/357, seated a few loose primers on the bench into 357 cases then went to trimming some 38spec.
I didn't clean my bench I cleared my bench, as in the cord from the corded drill I use to power my trimpro got in the way and knocked shit all over. Then the shaft got a wild wobble in it so I took it off, found my hand power attachment but no screw to afix it(dammitt). My plan was to dig deep into going through my 556 cases but I got disgusted and turned the light off. |

Got in an M-Die, and brass sorting buckets from Midway. Silly me, got the 380 and didn't read the question that it doesn't work with these buckets. Oh well, dollar store here I come.
Also my M-Die was stuck, I couldn't adjust it at all. Probably should have stopped there, but I put some tape on it and got the adjuster out. Then put it back in, it won't go all the way down. Cleaned out some metal chips, and I'm soaking it in some solvent now. Hopefully that does it, as the adjuster threads are dirty when I crank it down and back it out. :( |

Emptied a batch of 9mm from wet tumbler, they are drying on wood stove.
Got the next batch going. Replaced the ballast in my 3 bulb florescent fixture over my reloading bench. Using LED bulbs. Was taking 10 minutes for the bulbs to light up to full brightness. Will see tomorrow if fixed when shop is 50 degrees before I get the fire going. |

I had taken apart the back of my bench to get it "finished", and in doing so I actually got the pegboard positioned so the peg holes themselves are level. Not easy, but definitely worth it. It's not quite done, but it's worlds better than it had been.
Today I mocked up where my new powder scale shelf will go, and gave it a few test runs. I have the reach and height down solid now, so weighing each charge when needed won't be as tiring. I also finished doing a bunch of geeky measurements of my fired brass from Monday last week. I'm keeping this batch separate so I can see how long it takes them to expand to fit the chamber's shoulder. |

Started forming some more .300 AAC brass. After getting a new fixture for my saw, I am compelled to use it immediately.
I also deprimed some once fired .300AAC in preparation for my first run on the annealer. I wasn't much interested in using it while it was hot outside. I deprimed and sized some .223 brass this AM while killing time before heading to work. |
