If the Mods think this is straying too far from the subject of the thread, then they are free to zap this post.

I often find getting the firearms from storage to the range to be a royal pain, and have been looking to streamline the process.

To that end, I built some crates to aid in transport.  Each crate can hold about 6 WWII battle rifles, or 4 to 5 ARs/AKs with optics.  I can easily fit three of these crates in the bed of my truck, along with other range stuff.  Keep in mind that these crates are simply for weekend use, and not built for serious transport, but they do have rubber gaskets to make them a bit more weatherproof.

I recently added some additional skid strips on the bottom so they "lock" into place on my garden tractor's utility trailer.  When driving the tractor from the bunker to my truck, they'd bounce and slide around, and possibly off of, the trailer.  The additional skid strips work like a charm.

When not serving their intended use, they can be stacked to be used as furniture, or even turned on their sides for a sort of awkward bookshelf, or benches for additional seating.  If they are going to serve double-duty as décor, it probably helps if you don't have a wife to complain about it.

This may be from a gun store, but I couldn't find any details on it.  But the lack of visible tags makes me think it's probably a large private collection.

Back when this thread first started in 2007, I had to host with photobucket and a few other POS sites with limited bandwidth.  However, now that Imgur.com is available, which has near unlimited bandwidth, I'll rehost some of the old pics, so the links shouldn't be down much longer.  This wasn't a problem for a long time, but the thread has gotten a lot of recent views since I have done several new updates.

Of course, you all realize that now BATF, NSA, IRS, DHS, FBI, and EIEIO are all feverishly tracking down your home address from your screen name.

What a shame all these guns are going to be confiscated by the gubbermint and melted down.

All the big boys there are semi's. While I do have several stamped SBR's, I've never gotten into FA's.

Hard to see but the gun on top is a Breda 8mm, it uses a pretty neat feed system where 20 rounds are clipped to a tray and fed in upside down. The empties are put back in the tray so when you're done, you have a full tray of empties.
Then there's the Madsen, SG43Goriunov, MG3(42), M2HB, BAR, M240 (just got this one), M60E4, Maxim and a Bren Mk1. All functional semis.

Some even get out to play sometimes...

OOPS!!! How did this one get here..... Yes, FBHO.

To the posters concerned about personal info in the pictures, etc. you can remove geo tags and other information before posting the pictures. There are programs for this, or you can simply do it manually.

1 - upload pictures from your camera to your PC

2 - when viewing your album of thumbnail pictures, simply right click on one photo

3 - Right click

4 - Properties

5 - Details

6 - click on Remove Properties and Personal Information  (A popup box will show a list of properties)

7 - at the top of that popup there are two selections: Create a copy with possible properties removed is the one I select.  This will automatically create and save a copy of the picture and that is the picture I upload to Photobucket or wherever.

There is a ton of information in each photo, such as camera make/model, settings, lenses,  date, etc. and also geo tags, which could provide the location of where the shot was taken.  the process above removes all of that.

On a side note, did you see where the guy is suing Google because a Google Maps picture of a specific street happen to be taken while his sons body lay in the street.  It's been like that for a few years and he's begging them to remove the image.  The technology of today is great is so many ways, but "with great power, comes great responsibility."

If there was a odd space in a room, a cubbie-like section that was 4'Dx7'W, what would yall do?

It would be nice to build a little room for a safe and work bench, but not sure what look to give it (just a closet look, hidden entrance behind book shelf or something)

I see all of these pictures, but how expensive do these projects add up to?

I really like the products from Wall Control Inc.  Very inexpensive compared to some of the other stuff I have seen.  Plus they have lots of accessory hooks and hangers, and the whole setup is very modular.
