@Rothperson87
So it looks like your barrel probably measures 13.050" if you have .625" long threads. So if you would have went with a 13.000" barrel you would have gotten 5.5 turns? I forget if that's acceptable. That would mean for the AEM5, a carbine length gas system would be an 11.000" barrel, a mid length gas system would be a 13.000" barrel and a rifle length gas system would be a 16.375" barrel. Right? And then .500" shorter for the AEM2-AEM4? |

I've got this idea to get Ron to make a collar that would thread onto the gas block threads and then chop and pin and weld a muzzle brake at 15.1" or so. This would be for an M4 MBS can, like an AEM2,3,4 not an AEM5. |

I need some inspiration. I have a 14.5” mid length BA barrel that that I had D. Wilson chop and contour back during the month of zuck that needs a home. I have no idea what to do with it. I’m thinking maybe do a m4 inspired build with a FSB. What say you?

Does anyone know of an available 12.5" barrel that has the right steps for the M4 collar?
I'm strongly considering a Sons Of Liberty Gunworks barrel, but looking for options. The other option would be getting a lighter profile barrel like the ADM Criterion Light weight or Hodge barrel and see if Ron can make me a one piece option. |

On a related question, does anyone know offhand how much an AEM2 goes past the end of the muzzle (bot the break, but the actual end of the barrel).

Anybody have some pics of an AE30 on a MK12 style build?

Been thinking about cutting down a CZ 527 varmint and making my AEM 5 work or using a ruger american ranch.
Anyone have an AE can on a 16 inch bolt gun? |

14.5 was too short. It's like 15.1. 14.5 MAY work with an aem4. I didn't measure it for my 16th model

I guess I figured it would take more than 200 rounds to get this kind of fouling/corrosion? Or maybe this is totally normal and it's not a big deal. If it is normal, is it worth cleaning it? It doesn't look like it's anything other than residue build up from spend rounds, but seeing as how I've only used this for a couple hundred rounds, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7920/46463737524_bfac75d9b6_k.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7895/32245497897_0d4c5ec770_k.jpg View Quote I would wipe clean with CLP or some Simple Green then CLP to make sure there is no evidence of an end cap strike. |
