Happy Late Birthday.  That Harbinger is Bad Ass!

Thank you, getting old!

I need to make myself a companion blade for the Harbinger XL, something I can skin and do fine work with. I was thinking a 5to5 in 1/8" but I'm not sure now, I want to piggyback it on the Harbinger XL sheath.

Here's a before and after of a blade I made for Mrs. Godrilla. Clay HT 5160. A defined hamon is not impossible with 5160, they are just not easy. The first picture is after HT and tempering with a little clean up.

I got to beat up on my Grit 55 today. No batoning, but lots of chopping and tip strength testing. My hamon is almost gone, but she's just getting prettier.

The baby striker works astonishingly well for breaking off dead bark.

Thought I'd share a few pictures of the Cerberus I just received from Fallen Oak Forge.

This thing is a wonder to hold. Very hefty, sturdy feeling blade. These blades are the kind of workmanship you can pass down through your family for generations.

Yeah, Godrilla47 has some awesome designs. It was hard to choose a favorite when I ordered.

The harder part is not ordering more right away.

Just placed an order with Ben for my first fixed blade EDC. I went with a Bullnose Skinner with Bully mod.

My wife is getting this for me for my Birthday! Going to be a long 6-8 weeks, but I feel like it is going to be well worth it. Thanks again Ben.

This might be a stupid question, but did you make a knife for the upcoming FX Fargo TV series? In a promo Billy Bob Thornton's character is using a knife that looks a hell of a lot like your Relic.

It's a newer design loosely based on the RF.

6 3/8" blade, 1 9/16" tall at the inner curve of the recurve, 11 1/2" overall, 1/4" thick

Thank you for the specs, even more interesting!  What I meant to ask was whether this was made for a customer (already spoken for).

Here are a few more I've had the opportunity to make. It looks like the movie deal is kaput... I've tried for the last month to get in touch with the producer and I got nothing. No big deal, plenty to do.

Wow, five years now eh? Glad I got mine when it was only 3 - 3 1/2 and the cost was about $100 less. Lol

I thought you all might like this. I was at a two day training pistol/rifle/blade course in NV last weekend and had an opportunity to get some handle time in with my Comminus at the end. We were given just 10 seconds.

I haven't used any of my other fixed blades since ai got my Grit 55. It's on it's second patina and I listed my Spartan for sale since I can't do it justice.

Ben, do you happen to know how etching solution would work on 5160? I used mustard but know etchant is a bit deeper. Just never tried it on carbon steel before.
