My M4-gery is finally finished, after years of gradual modifications on a budget...




I know its nothing special, just another Costa gun, but I built it and so I love it.

Bushmaster upper and lower, Spike's LPK, Eotech 512, lots and lots of Magpul.

LMT Defender2000 lower W/ SOPMOD stock
M&A parts SS 14.7"(w/Perm A2) M4 profile 5.56 barreled upper w/KAC M4 RAS & VFG
MA-TEC rear buis
AIMPOINT COMP M4 (not shown)
Homebuilt 3-point sling (from instructions in build forum)

Mags/Ammo:
Eleven 30rd SGI mags (Center Industries) w/MAG-PUL 3rd generation followers all loaded w/ 5.56 Win."Ranger" M855 (1 in rifle, 4 in double mag pouches, & 6 in bandolier that goes in B.O.B.)
1 20rd SGI mag (Hartford, CT) loaded with Hornady 75gr, 5.56mm T2 TAP (8126N)(not shown)
80 extra rounds of Hornady 5.56 T2 TAP on strippers carried in B.O.B. (not shown)
20 extra rounds of Win. "Ranger" 5.56 M855 on strippers in B.O.B. (not shown)
2 stripper clip spoons (one carried on fighting vest , the other not shown in B.O.B.

Armor:
Helmet: Specialty Defence Systems KM2 PASGAT w/3-point restraint system, woodland camo cover,
olive drab retainer band w/"cat's eye" reflectors, & ESS NV (slim profile) Goggles w/ black anti-reflection cover
Armor Vest: Specialty Defense Systems KM2 Intercepter OBA w/ throat (not shown) & groin protector (shown), w/(frontal) Spectra-shield SAPI plate (not shown)

Equipment:

Vest: SDS Fighting Load Vest w/:
2 M4 double-mag pouches, 1 grenade pouch w/white smoke grenade, 1-canteen pouch w/ qt canteen, metal cup, & water purification tablets,
Butt pouch containing First Aid Kit, small poncho, lighter, boonie hat, some TP for combat-dump, condom (you never know...), & a few extra zip-cuffs (not visible?)
Craftsman Automotive Pick (oddly, one of my most used tools), pair of medical shears(not visible?), 1 zip-cuff (ie: extra long metal-tanged zip-tie)(left breast of vest), cuticle scissors (good for dealing w/ car-bomb type wires/plugs, ect.)(next to mag pouch)
1 woodland camo "Camel-Bak" (1.5qt?) water carrier w/drink tube (IMO - extra water is a must!)
Motorola Radio & Earbud w/mic (Police-band/OPSEC(not shown?) - although I have found that a standard GRMS-type radio will fill the exact same space & functions almost as well )

Bug-Out-Bag (B.O.B.) containing:
6-mag Bandolier (shown outside of bag)
150ft of rappelling line w/D-ring,Fig-8, and a pair AKONA diving gloves (non-skid surface, lightweight, and yet very durable)(on top & far side of bag)
1 standard folding shovel w/ GI carrier, 1 aux. pouch w/SGI tritium compass (side of bag), 2cnd 1qt canteen & pouch (far side of bag) w/Gerber Multi-tool (not shown?)
<Inside of bag>(ie: not shown): 2 (condensed) MREs (IIRC-beef stew & Ravioli?), small Lightweight tarp-type plastisized blanket, bar of soap in ziplock, toiletries, small camp-type towel, change of shorts / tee & socks, fire-starter & some strike-anywhere matches (hard to find these days), extra batteries for flashlight & aimpoint (though some are contained in the rifle's stock assembly), tools & cleaning kit for rifle, area topo map, half-roll of quarters (you never know...), small mirror, small magnifying glass, small sewing kit w/ needles & thread, some extra para-cord, 3 chem lights & a road flare, and that's about all I can fit - let alone carry...
 
On a side note: I also have a gunbelt w/drop-leg holster, led flashligh, bayonet & sheath, 9mm Beretta w/ 15rd mag, 2 extra mags (in carriers), & collapsible baton w/holder, but it was just too difficult to put it all in the pic, so I left it out... sorry guys.

...Oh, and special thanks to "Frankie" for modeling my helmet!

I like it....but have yet to shoot with it attached....so in terms of function I can't comment yet.

I like how its smaller, from the build quality and design I'd say it will work out well......probably loud as hell too, FUDDs beware!

Holy shit that is cool ... talk to me about the Ops can ... is that one of ADCOs?  What does it mount on?  How is the flash with milspec ammo?  Have you put a lot of rounds in it?
