Description: We understand the strong desire to customize our ARs. Coming SOON, the Rainier Arms Avalanche™ Charging Handle. It’s not only ambidextrous, it has interchangeable handles to suit your unique needs. We will offer 3 main handle shapes. You can buy additional handles in different colors, etc to customize for feel, look & function. Retail will be $79.95 to $99.95 depending on configuration. We are at final stages of testing various coatings. We anticipate a launch date within 30-60 days! A .308/7.62 variant is also in the works. The BCM Charging handle was revised to mitigate gas blow-back. Here is an original compared to the revision (top). This Avalanche looks like it ENCOURAGES (funnels) gas right into the shooter's eyes from an over-pressure situation (suppressed, KB, etc.) in the upper:

Hey Stick, FYI the Armageddon Tactical is one ambi CH I know of that is also a gasbuster. I've got one, works fine, but honestly can neither confirm or deny the gas-control qualities as I have a piston on everything, As an ambi CH it's fine, but I still prefer my Raptor. Armageddon Don't know that they are paying any of your bills but good to know about none the less. |

While we as a company (Stickgunner LLC) have shot for over 150 companies in this community, there is a massive amount of equipment we use that has nothing to do with our clients. If everyone is done sidetracking the thread, perhaps people can get back to the actual item at hand. Lots of other threads to talk about Charging Handles, and I would be more than happy to give feedback in those threads. Is there any plan to make a mid/short latch version of this or the raptar?
the raptar is on my girls rifle, but the latches are just too big for me. Something like the short gunfighter or the LMT enhanced size latch with ambi stuff would be awesome. Great gear as always though RA |

EDIT: Based off of how well your first shot was taken, I opened it up in Photoshop and came up with a rough estimate on how far this is going to stick off of our rifles. Here's what it looked like after I made sure it wasn't going to be too far off. 
So essentially, I just boxed in the rail, boxed in the charging handle extended directly from the rail, and came up with a difference of 20 pixels. The rail was 113 pixels wide, charging handle 133 pixels wide. Based off of the personally measured width of a picatinny rail being ~.85", this is going to be right around an inch off of the side. If this is off from the actual spec from Rainier, remember that this isn't out yet and I'm basing my calculation off of a single image. |
