Guys I plan on being there at about 9:30 also. Im coming from south of CE from Forsyth area. Yall say there ain't no target stands there? I will try to get to the hardware store and make a stand like Mr. Bradd's but Im in a crush on time to get there. I will try. Im praboly not bringing an AR.Im bringing a M14 , SLR101S and either a 1903A3 or a Yugo 48A . I really need to shoot the 48A. Ive never fired it.Heck praboly change my mind and show up with a Dasiy, and a crossman 760 pumpmaster.

I'll see y'all at the range at about 9:30ish, I need to sleep late on Saturday.
It will be me plus a friend who is new to the whole shooting scene. His first question to me was " Do I need a licence to shoot?" I'll bring my wall if I can make it in time! Cant stay for Hooters though, gotta run up to the mountains after the shoot. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys again. btw, I'll bring some ammo cans in case some of you change your mind and want to get a few. |

I have located cases of Bowling pins!!!!!
So we can bowl at the range as well. I promised Bullseye Id give them several cases. Always got to get in good with the Gun stores. Plus the owner is a pilot. A plus-plus in my book. So sounds like we are going to release so type of assult when we show up! Bowling pins, walls, pumpkins, Beer keg, and what ever else! Im so looking forward in this shoot. |

Oh how many do you think we would need for the range? We can make up some type of game and set them up along different distances down the range? I just do not want to bring 50 if we do not need that many. Say 10 to 20?

I broke up with Abby about 6 weeks ago.....
 she was too good a damn shot! Things just did not work out. She is doin her best to reel me back in though..These are different girls. Neither of them have ever shot a rifle before so this will be learning experience.  Ive known both for years and one of them is an ex from years back. The other is her sister. They always make fun of me and my guns when I mention them so this will be a good time to get them hooked.

Sure I can give you a set. I am having truck problems, because my brother with the truck took off and did not tell anyone. I need to be in Tucker sometime around 4 to 5 to get them, I might have to call the guy back and tell him this. But what ever I can fit in a pathfinder is how much I am going to get. I am going to be dropping some off at the gun store because I said I would. But other than that Ill have whats left for the shoot and who ever wants some.

j3_, From Augusta you're coming down I-20, right? Take I-20 to exit 82. Turn right at the top of the exit ramp. Take a left at the light leading to the access road. CB is on the right. Hope you can join us. I'll save you a seat.

Take a look at some of the private ranges. Most of them have very similar restrictions to CE. Some are worse. At River Bend you can only shoot 1 round, what every 5 seconds? Something like that. I agree, there are many things I DON'T like about free public ranges. About the only thing I do like is the FREE part.
I hate having idiots waving their barrels around at other shooters (I've even seen people in our group do this!) or handle firearms while the range is cold and people are down range. I hate having to hope there is bench space. I hate not being able to shoot steel targets. Like a steel target at 100 YARDS is going to cause me danger. Yea, whatever. I hate that I can not shoot while moving like we did in the CQB class I took. But you know what, private ranges have a lot of, if not ALL, these restrictions/problems too. You hit the answer on the head. Own some private land. We're currently looking for some land (5-20 acres). We plan to build a new house in the next year or two. We're also going to build a range. The range gets built first. So, help me find some property.
