Three running threads full of hate for California ... and I can't wait for the election when California has to take the blame for the election of Obama.

On the other hand some poor deluded hicks are out there trying to convince the world Kansas is a great place.
|
|
|
They didn't like that Obama has a lead in Iowa to match California's - or that California wasn't the source of Obama's largest lead ...

yup. sometimes I gotta remind myself that some of the people who post such things are not used to larger world. |

The hate threads really get old. But then again I have to remind myself I'm dealing with people who have probably never even left their state before. For them to see the big picture is a hard thing to do. It's too easy for them to just blame us CA residents for everything.
|
|
|
Yep I have to agree with you on that. Reminds of horses with blinders . |
||
|
I stay out of GD as the fucktards in bumfuck where ever think that they live in a Utopia and that CA is the evil demon coming to get them.

My favorite is that people in all 49 states blame California for everything. Like Kerry got 59 million votes from California or are going to elect Obama in two weeks. Personally I don't know a single person from California that has retired in any other state than their home state. I know plenty that came here in the military or to seek a better life - high pay and a better life style - and in their retirement years - or failure - have returned to their home state.

The sadder thing is that even if we had firearms law similar to AZ or NV, they would still bitch about CA. Of course this is assuming that the same people will not (or cannot) move for a piece of the Sunshine state.
|
|
|
Yeah it is getting old. Im telling you, SHOULD obama win. we all should have our sig lines say "Welcome to the United States... Like California... BUT BIGGER!"
that oughta piss 'em off for a while. |

What I say to the out of staters is that the California of today is not the California I grew up in. If they have any intelligence and decency, they'll understand.

There are times when I want to do something to piss off antburners. At the same time, I usually prefer to just say "Onlt in CA..." to events that are not just CA related to remind them that CA doesn't have monopoly on stupidity. |
||
|
Paul, I just wanted to say I appreciate your posts. You hit them with the facts, and they can't dispute you.
I don't care whether they hate us or not, but they should at least get the facts straight and quit repeating the same old worn out bullshit. I think some people must skip reading Paul's posts because they post some bullshit even with Paul's tables and graphs staring them in the face. They're either "slow" or ignorant. Fortunately, ignorance can be cured. You think it's bad now, wait until if Obama is crowned the king. We'll get blamed for that too. |

Well, then they'll just call you "smug." When Texans brag, it's their birthright. When Californians brag, they're being "smug." |

I use to just use the figures but found that the pictures helped. I'm waiting for the 2008 results to add a bunch more - I'll graph the number of CA votes, the number of CA votes for Obama - and the nationwide votes for Obama. People wander around thinking that California is the most liberal state - but sort of miss the New England states somehow. It is a puzzle. I write it off mostly to jealousy and you'll often see me tint my posts in green when I suspect that a person isn't as stupid as they're coming off and are rather being driven by jealousy. The antburners are going to go nuts in ten days - trust me. |

I had no idea that so many people in CA are like you and me but also had no idea just how bad the laws and politics were until I got here. This place is a Salvador Dali Mad magazine mixed with Monty Python's Karl Marx. Hanging out around the gun shops and going to the range is the only way I can have faith that there is decency here.

Cheer up. There is a whole lot more to life than a pistol grip and a twenty-round magazine.
I actually feel sorry for those who's life revolves around pistol grips and big magazines. Yeah, shooting and collecting firearms is one of my hobbies - but just one of my many. There is no other state in the union that offers the breath and depth of adventure that California delivers. Mountain climbing to deep sea fishing, forests, deserts, rivers, the beach ... snow and water skiing, dirt bike, jet ski, and snowmobiles - all in the same day! The US revolves around California and things invented here - the television and movie industry, the Internet and computers, porn, the AR-15, custom cars, ... why wouldn't people on the old and cold east coast or flyover country be jealous? |

I used to sit quetly by as the bashing was going on.Not anymore.I'm tired of being treated like a second class citizen.California is a loony bin,but its not my fault.I've never voted democrat in my life! I'm just as proud of my home as anyone in the other 49 States.

They are not "educated" so they rely on knee jerk reactions and like Obama voters "go with the flow" mentality. heaven forbid they should do research and actually form an original thought on their own. But, one thing I have learned over the last year with this election and people watching, Most Americans are lemmings. They just follow one shmuck right off a cliff without a second thought. |

Hey cheer up guys. When we get to the point that most of the states goes dry water wise. We don't have to worry so much about that. By then desalination plants will be up and down our coastline supplying us with fresh water and the other states are waiting in line for their water hand out.
That's wiseful thinking on my part but desalination is close at hand. |

It's not California that is hated so much, rather it's the damn Loony Left/Socialist politics.
Aside from the $#@! large cities and $#@! Poly-Ticks, CA is a heck of a nice place! ....and my opinion of the $#@! large cities is pretty much universal, not just a CA thing. |

F'em! They can say all the crap they want. We still live in the best state in the union. If the nobama wins and one day robs us of our 2nd amendment rights, before cherry picking the rest away, they won't have anything going for their shit-hole states. Except really good friend foods and things with gravy.

I've been across this great nation of ours, it's the best there is...still. There are lots of pretty amazing places to visit. But I am always happy to come home. If there were a place with a better over all quality of life, I'd move there. But there isn't.

After NOBAMA gets in gun bans will be in every state!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

One important thing to remember about Californians is that more than half are from somewhere else. There was a huge influx from the northeast in the late 60's and throughout the 70's. Many/most/all brought their liberal eastern politics with them and are busy transforming this place into the very place they ran away from.

Is the ratio of liberal scum metropolitan dwellers compared to the “rest of the state” really all that different for CA, OR, & WA?
LA, SF, Seattle, Portland… what’s the difference? Trust me, unfortunately OR’s & WA’s day is just around the corner. |

YOU as a parent can stop it. TEACH your children how to identify bullshit in the news, Private, charter or homeschool your kids and turn off the idiot box. Wow... was that so hard? Because he is eco-friendly. I love California. This place has it all. I don't know how it is in other big cities, but the wierdos in SF just add to the fun of events. I was at Love Fest in the beginning of October and had a blast. Thousands of ravers and girls wearing almost nothing (and old people wearing absolutely nothing ) just added to the fun. Guns are not everything to me. And I feel sorry for people who's only purpose in life is firearms. |

In the last ten years the population of California increase year after year. I think it was in 2007 10,000 people more left California than entered yet due to the birth rate our population still increased. Even if all 10,000 of those people were liberals (the odds are they're 55%) and they all moved into Nevada there's still 2,485,529 more Nevadan's than Californians. What the stupid assholes don't realize is that some of the nearly 100,000 military folks in our state are getting out or retiring and returning to their home state wearing a California license plate. Likely about 40,000 of them a year based on retention numbers of first termers. That means four times the record amount of Californian's leaving vs. arriving head home to their home states every year - year in and year out. I advise all my charges to put a CA plate on their vehicle ASAP to avoid the police and to pull it off ASAP to avoid the assholes when the return home. Hell my in my neighborhood there's two guys moved here from Texas and another from Ohio - and that's out of 10 homes. Yet am I so damn stupid to think that 3.5 million Texans moved here or 1.75 million Ohioans moved here based on my "scientific" survey of ten whopping homes? We have a running joke in my family that whenever we see a Washington state license plate we say" Why don't you go back to Washington where you came from?" because we had some hateful old hag up in WA scream that at us in a grocery store parking lot clear out of the damn blue - talk about a bitch. We had been there less than ten days and already had some hairy liberal whale of a woman dent our brand-new truck and then this lady attacks out of no where. I tried to explain to her that I was born in Minnesota and that the federal government stationed me in California - and now Washington to protect her stupid bigot ass ... The liberals have trained those that will listen to claim victimhood - listen to the crybabies - it's not our fault - it's all the people moving here from California voting. The stupid logic of their argument isn't important - it's the attitude of the victim. I can't get a job (never mind I dropped out of school in the 9th grade, failed a couple grades before that, don't speak clearly, don't read nor write well, have a jail-house gang tattoo on my neck, pierced ears, nose, eye, and throat, and a sort of lengthy arrest record, oh, and I can't pass a drug test) but it's not my fault, the system is keeping me down! Those cries of the liberals - that asshole in the parking lot - are all claiming their victimhood loud and clear. Frankly those people are life's losers. The West was settled by those seeking a challenge, and adventure ... they packed up everything they owned and headed West to scrape out an existence. In the generations since we've seen those people create the AR-15, stealth and electronic warfare, and the personal computer and Internet. These are conservatives in my book - they don't need pubic assistance. They don't need a government to get in their way. They don't claim to be victims. Like I said, I lived up in Washington and there's some damn fine people up there - but there's also a whole bunch of leftist liberal tree huggers. Similar to the Bay Area but even more centered around the wacko environmentalism of the left. The media reflects this too - and it's very popular to blame the invading Californians retiring up there bringing millions and millions of easy dollars into their economy. They're cutting down trees to make room for homes - it's them Californian's fault. Ah shit it is. You forgot one of the biggest things in Wasighton... The Rain! I think they might just be angry that it rains 10-11 months a year up there (granted certain areas this is not the case) and here it's like 3-4. I went to college in Eugene, OR and my biggest annoyance was the rain. Stupid rain in the middle of July, and August is freaking annoying/stupid. |
|
|
It rained 99 days out of the first 100 that I was there.
And rust never sleeps up there. |

The thing that bothers me the most is people in other states post some goofy California news and then all the usual suspects jump on the bandwagon. After calling them out, they say "well,I don't care about California".
Why the hell did you post your hate then? I was watching a South Park episode last night, the one where everybody was buying hybrid cars and getting smug.It showed elitist hippies in San Francisco.I swear thats where some of the "flyover" folks get their talking points.I'm sure most have never been here before. Its getting old.My membership is due in January.I'm debating whether to renew or not. Why pay to be abused? |
