I was looking for a velcro pad last year and the HSGI slims were OOS, decided to try out Wilder. Sizing is the same and works great. Price is basically the same.
HSGI probably mo betta as they make hook and loop side pads. https://wildertactical.com/collections/belts/products/urban-assault-pad |

HSGI belt pad was OOS everywhere and buying direct had like a 20-week lead time. Stumbled across the Wilder Tactical belt pad and although if you buy direct, there's a little bit of a lead time, I found one in stock at HYDRA Tactical, which has free shipping. |

Looking to put together my first battle belt rig. I'd like to keep it pretty minimalist. Going with a blue alpha belt, but having a hard time choosing between molle and standard version.
I figure its better to have it than not, but wondering how necessary it will be. Looking to attach holster, some estac magazine pouches and an ifak pouch. |

You all need to read this Estaac blog post on GAP spacing and attachment methods.
https://esstac.com/blog/micro-pals-webbing-belts-and-attachments-/ Even if your GAP double pistol mag pouch fits in the PALS loops, you may experience issues butting up your M4 pouch right next to it. TL;DR: Velcro OneWrap FTW... It allows for better vertical placement and horizontal micro adjustments. Attached File My pistol/M4 mag setup: Attached File |

While it may be close when the belt is flat, I’ve found that potential clearance issues tend to resolve themselves when the belt is donned.

Anyone have any experience with the AWS LAB? Seems like the mounting system is a little much. adding a molle panel to the Velcro and then adding your pouches to that molle panel. To me seems like there would be a lot of wiggle room. any benefit to this system over a blue alpha belt?

View Quote I picked one up recently; those molle panels are kinda of a b!@#$ to remove if you don't have the little plastic tool they supply you with. They are not going anywhere. And if you lose that little plastic piece, a cut down credit card works just as well. If you think that adding/removing those molle panels are too much look elsewhere. Preference I guess. On a related note, anyone know whats up with their CS? Had a item backordered and now its in stock. Inquired about it but nothing..... |

They got blasted pretty hard last year. They OEM for some outfits on top of direct sales of their own sizable product line.
I'd give em a few days before trying again. They're legit, probably just swamped. |

@1iviper was right. The Multicam Cordura got me...
After waiting for over a month for my SL 6390RDS-2832-552 (551 would be the RH model) to show up and then learning that my holster (without modification) would only fit a G19/19x/45, I learned that all of the shells for a particular model are the same size. A sized barrel plug is the only difference between a 19 and 34. Once I considered threaded barrels, G17's, G34's, compensators, etc. I decided that the best option for me would be a Safariland model compatible with a G34/35. As luck would have it, OP Tactical had a LH 6354DO-6832-702 (701 is the RH model) in stock and here we are 48 hours later. One thing to note between the 6354DO and 6390RDS... The QLS Fork sits higher on the shell with the 6354DO. If you like the height of a 6390RDS on a mid ride UBL, you're probably going to want a high ride UBL if switching to the 6354DO. I've got a True North Concepts Modular Holster Adapter (MHA) that was set to the mid mounting location so I'm going to move the QLS up a notch. 6390RDS on left: Attached File Not sure what I'm going to do with the 6390RDS but I now have a complete mid-ride UBL w/QLS spare setup. I know... Two is one... Lastly, I swapped out my FastMag for a naked medium KYWI in Multicam and replaced one of my USGI tacos for a Tactical Tailor pistol mag pouch so that I could better secure my Leatherman Surge (which replaced my Wave). The problem with the UBL is it’s too big for a 1.5” pants belt and rocks back and forth and up and down. RDR gear has an injection molded spacer that would solve that but at $15 + shipping it’s a little pricey. Solution? Some scrap kydex, clamps, and a heat gun. https://i.imgur.com/IL4y21W.jpg https://i.imgur.com/sgQWwdy.jpg I used a low ride 2.25” UBL I had it laying around. This is pretty crude but it’s solid. I have another mid ride UBL on the way and on this one I’m going to use some plywood to clamp it to make it pretty. The UBL wasn’t bothered by the heat at all. Surprisingly with a stiff belt the UBL doesn’t flop at all. Makes me think most of the flop is from the belt loop being too big. Next mod is to wrap a 6360 STX basketweave 1911 holster in woodland Cordura. View Quote Is the basketweave molded in or is it some type of wrap like the cordura? |
