Wasn’t it confirmed that the M17/M18 rear sight plate works with Danish slide?

It wouldn’t fit a M18, it doesn’t have a LCI notch

I asked @coregon about that barrel and unfortunately it is a compact length barrel not a carry length barrel, won't work. So the barrel and sights seem to be the hard parts to find.

As CAR posted, the Compact and Carry P320s use the same slide and barrel length (3.9”). The difference is that the Carry has a Fullsize grip length (17-round mags) and the Compact has a shorter grip (15-round mags)

The front sight should be an 8, same number as the rear.

From what I read the US Mil request a six oclock hold on the M17/M18 sights.  So they use a different setup than the standard line.  What I have been reading is that a 6 is what Sig uses on their X-Carry.

My M-17 commemorative has 8/8 and my X-Carry has 8/8. I know these are not representative of all the pistols out there, but it is what I have personally seen myself.

I fired my Danish MOD clone today. I picked up the 9mm X-Carry FCU that I had ordered for it and finished assembly.

All parts are OEM SIG, new out of the bag except for the FCU which came from a nearly new 2019 X-Carry that was parted out and a rear sight/plate assembly from a P320 M-17 Civilian model.

The action was a bit sticky for the first 10 rounds and then started to smooth out. I attribute this to the New PVD slide and DLC coated barrel wearing in. The firing pin strikes were near dead center on the primer and there were no malfunctions. Firing impressions, it's just like my X-Carry, I like the mag well funnel. I can't comment on accuracy yet until I get some sights installed and shoot it with them.

Here is the BOM of parts that I used, I will update when I find the correct sights. Please note, the zinc phosphate corrosion resistant parts and DLC coated X-Carry target crown barrel and extractor were my upgrade for this build, I think the Danish pistols use the standard P320 parts.

For those wondering,

My P320 Carry threaded barrel fit nicely in the Danish slide purchased from Osage County Guns.

No movement, no difficulty going into battery.

This barrel came from a standard P320 Carry Slide bought back in October 2016.

This was a pleasant surprise since I was led to believe that only the newer X-Carry barrels would fit.

Just took my (still sightless) Danish X-Carry clone out and put 50 more rounds through it. Flawless function and it has smoothed out nicely.

What is truly amazing is that I put this pistol together using all new in the bag parts with absolutely no fitting and it works perfectly. You could not do that 40 years ago, there is something to be said for modern manufacturing techniques and processes.

I have been looking all over the web for the sight plate and I can not find anyone who has one in stock right now, SIG may be the only source currently and they are out. The part number the SIG rep gave for the plate was 13067018-R, I have not confirmed that this is correct though.

The SIG CS rep seemed very surprised that I had a Danish slide and asked where I got it from.

Read about the original M1911 testing.  Parts interchangeability was part of the reason it was adopted.  It was only when multiple companies started making 1911s did fitting become required.

@DK-Prof - Do you know if the Danish military has procured or is procuring a RDS for their pistols and if so which one? If you’re unable to find the right cover plate that could be one solution that would still be clone correct, if nothing else

Actually, I was thinking of the Colt Government Model when I wrote this. I have owned (and still own) many Colt M1911s over the years. There are many cases where parts are not interchangeable without a great amount of fitting, especially in the barrel/slide and grip and thumb safeties and sometimes sear and disconnector. I currently own two 1986 Colt Combat Elites, the tolerances are so disparate between the two that you cannot swap the barrel and slide assemblies or combinations of the between the two pistols and have a properly functioning pistol. In fact, with one slide on the other pistol, you cannot even engage the thumb safety as it hits the front of the slide notch. Just about every Colt Government model I own show evidence of a large amount of hand fitting and filing done during assembly. This may have been reduced in recent years as Colt has invested in CNC machines.

Anyone looking for the rear sight assembly, this is the part numbers needed below.

Rear Sight: 1302145-08-R

Sight Plate / Cover:  1302087-R

Screws:  1302528-R  (NOTE, These are NOT sold as a set with 2 screws, you will need to order 2 of these for a pair).

Also just want to add that OsageCountyGuns has all the parts mentioned above available in a kit for like $150 I believe but do yourself a favor and get these directly from Sig, if memory serves me right you will save over $90 compared to Osage wanting $150 for everything (This price from them is also NOT even including the front sight.

Interesting that the example there doesn't have the grip tape.  Maybe it's something the Danes add AFTER the guns are delivered, and is home-brewed?

Yes, as Coregon stated earlier, the grip tape isn't on the BoM. So it's added afterwards.

I've supplied DALO with quite a bit of things, such as most recently, their NEMO 300WM rifles, and they order a bunch of things from different places and have it shipped with to assemble in house.

I finished my version of the Danish Military clone.  As I mentioned earlier in an earlier comment I was surprised when my older P320 Compact/Carry threaded barrel fit the Danish P320 Carry slide.

I also ordered the X-Carry barrel as mentioned by CAR in previous thread: 1302534-R ; BARREL, 320XC-9, DLC, 7.67 LOCK FACE, NON-PT.

I received it and thought I would give a quick side by side comparison of the P320 Threaded Barrel from 2016 Compact/Carry gun. Threaded barrel is on the right.

Internal slide parts were from the older P320 Compact/Carry slide.

When I test fire will test both barrels to see what differences if any there is between them.

The FCU I used was from an X-5, with Grayguns trigger added.

Here is my completed P320 with the X-Carry barrel installed. This 320XC-9 barrel also fit nicely in the older 2016 P320 Compact/Carry slide.

I used the Bobro engineering plate to mount my Trijicon RMR.  The plate fit nicely, and RMR mounted with no difficulty.

Front sight is a Sig Lite #6 suppressor sight.  May put a #8 on depending on shot placement after test fire.
