Here’s a C7 upper

https://www.tntesales.com/a1-11-5-commando-lite-1-7-upper/

Look around TNTEsales for in stock options. Back orders will take months to fill, but if they say in stock they mean it now.

ETA: here’s their BD upper

What does a basic carry handle upper cost these days? Would be great to throw on my spare SBR for a truck gun.

Carbine stock inbound.
PSA has the H&R brand in sock for a really good price.  So I’m gonna give one of theirs a try.

I personally hate the sight picture with the wrong FSB.  It just looks wrong to have a stubby little front sight peeping out of the FSB.

Well, there’s always Model 1 Sales.
I was looking at theirs when mine popped up in the EE.
I bought an upper from them back around 2008-9 and it was fine and had no issues, it was one of their M4 uppers.

My first order from them was a back order and it took 7 months.

The last one was for an in stock item and it shipped less than 48hrs later. I think they’ve figured out keeping higher demand items available and building one offs as they’re ordered.

The poor experience I had with them had nothing to do with shipping times and everything to do with their customer service when there was a problem.

There are plenty of other companies out there that will deliver a good product and not scream at their customers on the phone when something goes wrong with the order.

I'd advise others to seek out those alternative companies.

Upper is here!!!!!!

Preliminary pics mounted on the lower.
I have an M&A Parts carbine stock on it now, the H&R stock should arrive tomorrow.
I need to get a grip, safety, 607 moderator copy, and make a sling.
I have a budget plan for the 660 light that will get me close without spending to much.

Here’s some messing around pics.

A lot of optic mounts are basically carry handle hight at this point and people use them on purpose.

I've got the same mount coming to me.  Gonna swap out the cheap amazon mount.

Of course i did a funky/fugly grid cammo on mine.

The bayonet pic mount for light is a KZ Bayonet Lug Mount Picatinny Rail.  I picked it up from botach, and it actually shipped quick.

@AS556

those slings are actually the carry strap from a US issue 2 qt canteen pouch.  I got these in a surplus store out the back gate of FT Bragg on Yadkin Rd, but you can find them in just about any surplus store and on ebay.  The trick is finding just the strap or you will be buying the entire pouch and pay more...

The metal part on the FSP is seperate and is called a sling keeper.  Honestly can't remember where I found those but they were cheap.  Attached to the stock with 550 cord

You'll like the MGW mount, but it is really reflective on the inside. Once my M4/Gordon can EF4 comes back and I paint the rifle I'm going to make a point of getting some into the iron sight channel to knock down the reflections of the front sight I can see on the inside walls when I drop my head down to get a sight picture with the irons.

You can make the front sight sling point out of 550 as well. I prefer gutted and looped up a few times on the sight block and stock, but I've seen others do it without gutting the 550.

@stinkypol

Nice, good idea.  For the MP5 module - Ebay or Wish or....?  Price?

I'm using an A2 upper a buddy had in his parts bin.

Have another buddy looking for ARMS #2 mount.

Barrel, A1 grip, skinny A2 handguards, and H&R carbine stock are en route already.

Was extremely lucky and snagged one of the LE trade in Aimpoint Pro's from Aimsurplus earlier this week.

Light is literally the only piece I need to sort out now....unless my buddy with the ARMS #2 ends up not being able to find it.

The cut down moderator actually works pretty well as a blast diffuser.  Of all the (unsuppressed) 5.56 SBRs I have in the 9" to 12" barrel length range, my BD clone is the easiest on the ears.

This is mine. Not intended to be a clone, but a slightly updated take on the build.
I actually want a slightly larger stock. The SL K slips out of the shoulder from time to time whereas the SL doesn’t.
