| Definitely use a cheap light mount as they are thinner and will fit under the gas block. The real Surefire M14 mount is too thick unless used on an pencil barrel. The movie prop was a cut down M16A2. I used the top clamp section of a cheap barrel mount and the bottom weaver section of a real Surefire M14 on mine to get more clearance so the light could actually fit next to the handguard. I’m still trying to source a weaver ARMS rail and Aimpoint Comp M for mine. I had a Comp M2 on it, but my OCD got the best of me. Retro Rifles also has a longer 607 type moderator, but their turn around time is slow. Hope this helps. |

It actually works pretty well as a blast deflector. It's much more pleasant to shoot than my other 10-12" rifles with flash hiders.  You can also see I turned the barrel under the FSB to skinny profile to make fitting the light mount easier. |

The 3.5” 607 model is the one I’ll probably run with. I want to use parts that are true to reality and not necessarily “movie correct.” So, I suppose it wouldn’t be clone correct, just bad ass. |
