shoulda made a full hood
to elaborate: I use yWC rears cause they're the only (i think!) fully elevation adjustable folding ones out there. that way I can center my pri front hood in the rear circle ala HK. with a full hood, you could offer the same circle in circle aiming system. on the flip side,it does interfere with the sight picture more than a non hooded model, but that's why they flip down! |

I like it. Better design than the A.R.M.S.folder, and I'm an A.R.M.S fan. There. I said it. I like A.R.M.S. stuff. I feel better now and somehow liberated...

Looks nice!
Will there be a pinned version with a bayonet lug available? |
Looks like it may have been influenced a bit by the KAC front flip gas block sight. Very nice regardless.

Can we see a "Down" position picture please? How about an installed sight in the up and down positions. Thanks, Rollin |
I'll try to snap a pick next week of one folded for you guys......
Going from Memory, but I believe it is 5.5 oz. ....and yes, it auto locks in the up and down position
Thanks Brother,
I really like the looks of your sight. mounted pics will help me visualize the look of a new build. Rollin |
First impression from the pics....Im impressed.
Could you please post a pic of the bottom (set screws)? |
Good luck with additional pics. I refuse to buy one if the rep can't even produce pictures we request.

To "WilsonCombatRep", if you do work for Wilson Combat and you're trying to sell your wares here, you're not doing a very good job of it. I was interested in your new front sight after seeing your first post, but due to your incredibly poor response for additional information on it, I'll be going with another manufacturer. |
I would be interested in one if I can get a pinned version with bayonet lug.
However, with the customer response so far I won't be holding my breath... |
I was going to order one last weekend and post more pics for you guys, then it occurred to me, that ain't my job. I was, and still am curious about the little quarter-circular piece on the sight that appears to be a shield or protector for the round actuator, also from the angle of the existing pictures, and the description doesn't say, I can't tell if the sight is spring mounted, probably not.

Not everyone has a photographer available, and I can understand the concern over posting poor quality images of a new product. WilsonCombatRep- IM me if there is a photography issue, and I'll help you guys out. |

Thanks for the pics. I'll wait till they thin out the protective ears of the front sight, they look excessively thick.
Stick, rainierarms.com is something of an exception that it has professional grade pictures of products it sells. I'm sure you know that most sites have simple and rudimentary pictures for their products. I'm not sure the quality of the pictures is a determining factor for a customer to buy the product, price is more likely the first and most important consideration. Reputation of the vendor and, these days, availability, probably trump eye candy too. All the rep had to do was snap a simple picture and post it here, it doesn't need to go on their website. |
That's damn sexy!
Thanks for the pics! You just spent more of my money. |
Thanks for the pics...looks good.
I kind of wish it had the clamping style retention with cap screws going cross-wise instead of the set screws......but may still see myself owning one. |
Rollin- if you need me to spend anymore of your money please let me know
Good product but it does have a couple of issues. The sight needs the one protective ridge done away with (you're not going to accidently deploy it) The ears should be made thinner (as was suggested by another member). And I should recieve the first re-designed model for being the initial user/reviewer (wishful thinking), Always happy to give back to the site that has helped me so much. SEMPER FI ! |
Wow at first glance I really really liked it, especially since I'm trying to work out a way to get a KAC one put on my rifle. But the fact that there is not an option to get it "blank" on the bottom so I can have it pinned on and those huge ears that block the button to deploy it... I will pass. If they fix those two issues looks like it would be a big hit.

Thanks Warrior, I'm still in the middle of my election build, but like usual I'm looking beyond my current project to the next one or two. Hopefully when I get around to getting the sight they will implement your suggestions. As far as spending money, I have lots of volunteers, I'll add you to the list! I appreciate the input. Is it made all of steel, aluminum or a mix of both. If the sight part is aluminum I can see why the ears are so thick. From the looks of it you can still have it pinned. I pinned an old yhm sight years ago that had the same set screw style mounting.
Seems to be all steel.
And this could be pinned, if I have any issues with mine I will do just that. |

Why is everyone so keen on having flip-up front sights lock in the DOWN position? My personal favorite front sight is the GG&G FFS, which uses a non-locking detent to hold in the down position, but because it is not LOCKED, it is very quick to flip up when needed. It does lock in the deployed (up) position for obvious reasons. The only real drawback to it is the $200 price tag and factory install.
Make this one easier to deploy and I'm all over it! |
Good question, Troy and PRI sights do not need to unlocked to pull up.

Maybe this one springs up? It's not mentioned but that is the only reason i can see to have it lock down. |

I can't see a spring anywhere. Normally we'd just ask the manufacturer, but I think he gave up on posting in this thread
Gyrene, could you possibly take a pair of measurements? I'm needing the length from front to rear with the sight folded, and the height from the barrel to the forward-most (muzzle side) projection. Trying to see if this will work with my can setups. Nice rifle by the way!

Hey guys,
I'm still around, I've just been spending more time in the WC industry forum. The sight does lock in the down position, and it is not spring loaded. It is all steel construction. I have sent up the line the suggestions that have been made here, and they will be considered for future models. Regarding pics, we try to present only professional quality photo's, and unfortunately, our inhouse photographer has been butt deep in work for the upcomng new website. I'm bugging him for more pics now |
