Alignment was spot on. https://i.imgur.com/uOQWgcz.jpg Serial numbered, very nice. What I held was super nice with the finish. No tool marks either that could be easily seen either. https://i.imgur.com/sFZ72I8.jpg Honestly the loctite is an overkill in my opinion, but good to have for those that like to keep things there. One of my biggest complaints with the #16A was how loose it was and needed aluminum foil to shim it, and that the knob needed to be loctited shut. With this, you'd need neither. https://i.imgur.com/2p03NSV.jpg Notice the lack of a recoil lug in the middle. This may turn some off and it's understandable. However this isn't meant to be a hard use rifle either so hopefully time will tell. https://i.imgur.com/5Gk1Bun.jpg Odd angle because of how I had to hold both the end of the rifle and phone to capture this, but the irons can be easily still used. The screw can still be partially seen but that would be a form complaint as it doesn't block the effective use of irons should one find themselves in a sudden pinch. https://i.imgur.com/O01vCAq.jpg It definitely sits lower than the Pro in any carry handle mount regardless of the mount being a rail and a 30mm ring or the #16A, and I like that. I'm getting something of a cheek weld instead of a weak chin weld. https://i.imgur.com/yxB2IwR.jpg My initial impressions are saying to buy with confidence if this is what some of you have been looking for. I'm very glad that I took this leap of faith, so far so good. @DocGlockster @MRW View Quote That's a cool mount! Nice find since the KZ version does not appear to be in production at this time. |

Window shopping, found this beauty. I put a down payment on it immediately.
Now correct me if im wrong, but a standard pivot pin will swap in? Ive never seen a 6520 with the drain hole drilled for the spring and detent while having a screw type pivot pin. 20211227_164159 by brandon hobock, on Flickr" /> 20211227_163804 by brandon hobock, on Flickr" /> 20211227_163758 by brandon hobock, on Flickr" /> 20211227_162911 by brandon hobock, on Flickr" /> The lower has a nice purple hue. Also, does that selector switch look original? |

Almost bought a cut down iirc colt barrel a few months ago, but i really want a 20 for that project Thank you Well, if you consider a ‘real dissi’ to have a rifle gas system on a 16” bbl, then yes. It was a 20” Windham Weaponry govt profile bbl that I had chopped and the gas port opened up a little. Kinda hated to since I love the aesthetic of a 20” A2, but I saw a suppressed A2 Dissy and decided I had to do it. |

Still kinda kicking myself for not picking up the one a while back. I agree about the 20 inch aesthetic, got two that need to go 20 inch. But after that its dissi time. |

Bought a blem LMT A2 upper a while back and put the rest of the upper together with some spare parts.

Tried some of my 62 grain ‘plinking’ reloads that aren't as hot as milspec ammo and it ran about the same. To be honest though, if I were to do it again I’d probably just try one of the midlength Dissy kits from PSA or something. When I sent this upper off it seemed like Dissipator style barrels and uppers were hard to find, now PSA has both a midlength and carbine gas Dissy upper assembly, and I think Del ton has some Dissy barrels too. |

New to me, picked up yesterday. First AR of my own, pretty stoked. Ban Era Bushmaster basically brand new condition, with bushmaster piston kit and YHM tri rail. Waiting on roller cam and carry handle mount to get here. |

Yeah..I suppose so I guess..I'm around alot of ppl with " the handles" and have never really seen them carry them that way. We have talked about this very thing also, I'm not against them just to be clear. It's ol'school tho and I like the look.

I would prefer to lose the extra weight and strap a really nice scope in its place.

This a carry handle thread, you'd probably be more at home in the other picture threads. |

Colt 6520 PD trade-in.
Colt 6720 with a N/1 stock and CAR handguards. It’s 6520esque but gives the option to use optics. Thinking about throwing an ACOG on it for the ultimate lightweight general purpose carbine. Attached File |

For those of you using the old school ARMS style carry handle mounts, how well do they hold up? Do they maintain zero well? Did you do anything to the nut/screw to keep it tight? I plan to mark it with a paint pen to see if it backs off any.
I have a 14.5 a1 carbine I have fallen in love with so I want to do an a2 in mid length and try to put some modern amenities on it without making it weight 10 lbs. such as aimpoint pro in an arms 16A mount and a surefire scout light. Its not actually full auto just a dumb clone lower. Attached File |

The many other A.R.M.S. rails I have mounted to the carry handles over the years got the same treatment, with excellent results. Clearly, blue loctite wouldn't be a bad choice, but I always followed WES's advice, "GET THEM TIGHT!" One thing I always loved about the ACOGs was the ability to mount them directly to the carry handle and even add an additional bolt. |
