Nice pair! What rail and barrel length is that on the lower rifle.? I have a 13.5" MK16 in ODG I've been sitting on since the 2018 BF sale. Just finishing up my FBI Regional build and I'm really liking the ODG rifle look.

My Mk8 is filthy and I'm thinking about using brake cleaner but don't want to damage the ano or whatever coating they've applied to get the color.

Brake cleaner won’t hurt the rail but it may eat up/ dissolve some polymers so I avoid using it most of the time.

For heavy dirt, use soapy water then dry everything under the rail thoroughly, then rub down with a rag & CLP or a lightweight gun oil.

For carbon I usually just wipe everything down with a rag damp with CLP then wipe off any excess.

Here is my URG-I upper that the rest of the parts showed up for today. It has a colt BCG, Airborne charging handle and SF4P. It will go on an LMT lower with SSA-E trigger. I need a few more parts like the Geissele scope mount for the Trijicon AccuPoint 1-4x (green triangle version, which works almost like a RDS on 1x), B5 SOPMOD stock, and a pin and weld job before I can completely assemble it. I will function test it on my SBR lower maybe this weekend (Beer Flu dependent), then off to JT for the pin and weld work. I've been really excited to get this rifle put together over the past few weeks. I will still have to wait about two weeks to complete everything I need, which sucks. The glamour shots will come when it is complete so shitty pictures will do for now.

Brake Cleaner will damage the finish. You may not notice at first but after a few uses it will be noticed. Used it in the USMC to clean A2s for inspection. It had to be hidden. We were praised for clean weapons but a year later the finish was degrading much faster than the other A2s.

Give Eezox a try. I use it extensively on my AR's. Granted, my DDC MK-8 rail has not seen any accumulated crap yet, but it should work well and not damage the finish.

I love that build, and the 416 PG is my favorite by far for any Pistol Grips. Excited to see the finished product.

This is a Geissele super duty receiver set. The upper receiver is not compatible with the HK handguard. My handguard is a 9.5" DDC MK8.The pistol grip, stock, and dust cover are HK and RAL8000 in color.
