Why are they all A2? I'd like to have a detach handle that is built around the traditional A1 look. I never mess with the adjustments on my sights anyways. Does such an animal exist?

i do not know of any A1 detach handles. Since the A1 sight is more or less obsolete and nowhere are good as A2, the market it too small for any company to consider making them.

Just because the A2 is newer doesn't mean it's better. The older unit is lighter and mechanically simpler, and it worked for a long time in the real world.

I find nothing wrong with the A1 rear other than the smaller aperture.  Switch that out for an A2 aperture and you are GTG.  The A1 is far less likely to get "bumped" off your zero than those with the A2 knob and, unless you are into target shooting at 300M-600M, you should never miss that knob.
