If y'all haven't used these, you are missing out.

I'm just sayin.

I can set this thing down above the gas cap on any machine and still fill with it.

I have two five-gallon ones and one 2.5.   Want a smaller one for fuel mix for the little machines.

Lifting five gallons of fuel up, tipping it, activating any kind of "opener" is becoming less and less possible.  I spill.  These cans changed that.

SureCan

ETA:  I don't know anything about the "safety" version of these.  I need to look.

ETA2:  These cans show up at pawn shops sometimes.  I actually have an extra five-gallon one I forgot about.  Got it for $30 at a pawn shop instead of the $50 I paid for the other one at a trade show.

Those 2.5 no spill are my go to as well for daily use.
Longer term fuel storage is in Jerry cans and dispensed with a simple siphon
Diesel goes in the yellow VP racing jugs.

Definitely. I have a 5 gallon SureCan that's 5-6 years old. Works great, and unlike the stupid cans (Blitz?) at Walmart, the garage doesn't stink of gas fumes even in the Summer (but the steel Wavian NATO cans are even better for storage. Left those filled, in a black SUV in the summer sun all day. Not even a whiff of fuel).

Much easier to use than cans you have to tilt. Good warranty too. Got one for the neighbor. It began leaking after a year(?). He contacted them and asked if they sold repair kits/seals. They shipped him a whole new can.

Saw a huge enclosed inverter gen at SHOT yesterday evening, wheels, easy to handle, tri-fuel no less, but no electric start.  You could parallel two of em, think they cleared 5000W on gas.

ETA:  Oh, and 240VAC natively too.

I'm a little unclear about how they are doing 240/120 with inverters and how it works with power capacity etc. I know on a traditional generator you only get half the wattage on 120 on each side. If there's a good technical/engineering type there, ask them how the power handling works on their inverter between 240 and 120 loads. Ie, if connected to house via the 240/120 plug, and 4000 watts of load is on one side of the 240 and 1000 watts of load on the other side (assuming no 240 load), would it work?

Wow!  What brand was it?

Has Firman (logo) plug covers, so i'm guessing (very sure) it's Firman. I have a Firman 2000 inverter.

Must be a new model, it's not on their website.

How do y'all clean your cans?

Put about 1/2 gallon of E85 in there and slosh it around.

Disposal is generally to dump it on a brush pile or big pile of whatever trash is going to get burned  and set it on fire.

Check with your power company as well, you may be eligible for a rebate. I know Edison offers discounts to us Southern California'rs for purchasing an approved generator since we are in a wildfire zone. They may have a program out in your neck of the woods for something like that.

Well that was great news about the 100a
Now you just need an interlock plate and an inlet wired in.
You could drop the 100 to whatever amperage the inlet plug is rated at.

For generators (and other small engines) if you have a fuel station nearby that has no-alcohol gasoline, it would be a good idea to put that in your gas cans. There's a website that helps locate stations:  https://www.pure-gas.org/. If you have a lake/marina/watercraft area nearby there will generally be someone that has no-alcohol gas.

I would do 50 amp breaker/wiring/plug with the size of generator that you have.

I haven't read the entire thread but I figured I would post anyway.

I just ordered a Westinghouse dual fuel 4500 inverter generator and a reliance 30 amp 10 circuit transfer switch.  Keep in mind I already own a dual fuel Duromax 13000 and a 250 gal propane tank.  Ive come to realize that smaller more efficient is better and that don't like dirty power.  Next I will buy a 240v inverter generator and another switch for my 240 stuff like AC
