A guy who lives behind my house is on the list.
His crime? Sex with a 17 year old girl. He was 21. She got pregnant. He's the one taking care of the kid. I'm really curious who decided that this guy should be a sex offender. |

Pretty much every single person on this site, and probably the entire world is a "sex offender". Ever pee on the side of the road, or while out camping or hiking? You would be a sex offender if caught.

The ones that pop up on your search generally aren't the ones you need to worry about.
Frankly, it's a waste of money. Anybody who wants to can simply use an alias and skip the reporting requirement. All it does for average Joe is provides him with a false perception that he's got the info he needs. |

i have the Texas DPS sex offender search of my area on my favorites.
it lists their offense(s) quite clearly, so you can discern the 19 year old guy with the 16 year old consenting girlfriend, as opposed to the violent child rapist. i have a flasher a couple of miles away - he just got paroled after about 8 years in the state pen. he screws up and he gets to finish his 11 year sentence. |

I used to work for a Psychologist who shared an office with another Psych that councled "sex addicts." These were the tier 3 child molesters on parole.
You don't know where they live because they use any address they please, no one verifies it not even the police. Sometime's it's their parent's house, sometimes it's the first place they could think of. |

Did a check in my neighborhood, other than the kiddie diddler (convicted in 1996, I believe) it's almost the same as when I checked a few months ago: 1. Offender I described previously in the thread. Felony conviciton in 1997 as a 21 year-old of having sex with a 14-15 year-old girl. No subsequent offenses. 2. Offender a few blocks away. Misdemeanor conviction in 2001 as a 24 year-old of having sexual contact with a 14-15 year-old. No subsequent offenses. 3. Offender just down the street from #2. Unknown conviction (out-of-state) in 2001. No subsequent offenses. 4. Offender in the next neighborhood. Felony conviction in 2006 as a 26 year-old for having sex with a 14-15 year-old. No subsequent offenses. Now this doesn't mean I live in a safe neighborhood, but other than #3 I don't see any real threat to my kids from any of these "predators". |

What the heck am I going to do now?! THIS is what the list is SUPPOSED to be used for, Not to harass some poor bastard that peed behind a dumpster or got snagged in a cathouse raid. You know - I checked the dots nearest to my home and not a single one....not a single one....was for peeing behind a dumpster. No - I have a couple of kiddie porn freaks around me, another that likes kids half his age, and another who takes sexual advantage of the medically infirmed. The list goes on.... Did a check in my neighborhood, other than the kiddie diddler (convicted in 1996, I believe) it's almost the same as when I checked a few months ago: 1. Offender I described previously in the thread. Felony conviciton in 1997 as a 21 year-old of having sex with a 14-15 year-old girl. No subsequent offenses. 2. Offender a few blocks away. Misdemeanor conviction in 2001 as a 24 year-old of having sexual contact with a 14-15 year-old. No subsequent offenses. 3. Offender just down the street from #2. Unknown conviction (out-of-state) in 2001. No subsequent offenses. 4. Offender in the next neighborhood. Felony conviction in 2006 as a 26 year-old for having sex with a 14-15 year-old. No subsequent offenses. Now this doesn't mean I live in a safe neighborhood, but other than #3 I don't see any real threat to my kids from any of these "predators". You can make your own decision, but any twenty-something year old that thinks it's okay to have sexual contact with a 14/15 year old is someone that I would consider a threat. They have already demonstrated poor decision making skills and an attraction to children. That's good enough for me. |

I could care less if there is a guy or girl that was caught having consensual sex in a car or got caught in a prostitution sting. There is big difference between these offenses but the law does not seem to think so.

He caught a girl alone in the gym, grabbed her hands and put his schlong in it, then stroked himself off with her hand. She was 14 at the time. She prosecuted right before the statute of limitations was to expire, and the trial saw many, many women lining up to speak out about what he did to them when they were his students. During the trial I was dating the woman who put him in prison. She was scared shitless the whole time and cried a LOT, but is all kinds of awesome for standing up for future generations of girls like she did. |
