Here is the link I use. I just do not understand how they are let out to do it again.
It makes me sick to see what some of these divots have done.

I just Googled for the WI database after reading this thread.
Got to the mapping link, and did a search near my house.
I'm out "in the country", and yet I still live less than a mile away from someone who was convicted of 2nd degree sexual assault.

I'm going out to do some recon now...probably good to know where this guy lives. Didn't recognize his name or his picture (and I know a lot of the people who live around here).

What the hell has happened to us? Why do we tolerate this? How many times have we heard of recidivistic douchebags attacking and raping or killing children?

Having a seven month old daughter myself......I am going nuts with the thought of protecting her in this sick fucking world. Ive heard statistics that say as many as 3 in 5 girls are molested or otherwise sexually abused before adulthood.

C'mon...

Registered offenders are registered because the law says they have to be. If they don't, they get a warrant issued for their arrest.

I'm not saying the occasional scumbag doesn't run and hide, any more than I believe the occasional white-collar scumbag who embezzled a million bucks doesn't.

But most sex offenders are on the list. And that's my tax money well spent.

That's the problem with most of these "lists". It does not discriminate between child molesters and someone caught having sex in public or with a hooker, so when you check these sexual offender maps they look like they got hit with a full load of number 7 1/2 bird shot.

I only really care if there is a former rapist or child molester next door. I could care less if there is a guy or girl that was caught having consensual sex in a car or got caught in a prostitution sting. There is big difference between these offenses but the law does not seem to think so.

Let's see how many "prostitution sting" guys you get.

In most states those are not even listed on the public websites.

It's safe to assume that the offender registry numbers are somewhat inflated by these people, the degree to which is hard to pinpoint.

OP, watch for those pointed out in GarandM1's quoted post. Those are the ones you have to worry about.

Don't get too bent out of shape. There are very few actual baby fuckers out there. Most of those "sodomy on a child" convictions are a 18 to 20 year old banging a 15-17 year old. Many, and I do mean many sex crime convictions are pure BS, and most would have mystified our ancestors.

Case in point: I visited my sister and her family a few years back. My 4 year old nephew had to pee, so I swung the door of the truck open and told him to pee in the parking lot. Most states have a certain year-difference requirement to be listed for rape. IE more than 4-5 years apart to be be listed on the site, meaning the 19 yo old was caught with a 13-14 year old. Call it what you like, but that is a sex offender.

Women making up shit doesn't land all these guys on the registry either. Get real.

Do you realize the average sex offender has 10 times the number of victims the judge hears/knows about? They are wired that way, can't help themselves, no cure for it except prison/capital pun. Problem is once they max out they are released and back to predatory behavior.

Thanks for the link - only 2 in the town I live in - both were old geezers and young kids. That said, hard to guess what actually happened on some convictions.

My HS math teacher was convicted. I don't know exactly what he did - but on a camping trip he caught the boys with beer and porno's and let them keep them. He also made them shower every evening. Worse I expect is the kids played with themselves and he ignored them (but was present). These were teenage boys.

While group masturbation still not something I would be comfortable with...I have been around group sex a few times so can not really cast stones.

It would be one thing if you said hey just just be aware some women make false claims during disputes for custody, etc. You are going well beyond that. I ran a very successful team that in part investigated the funding sources for large scale organized crime efforts. These were in part the makers, producers and distributors of child porn, human trafficking, etc., etc.

What you are saying does not jibe with what I have seen and what the duty experts I worked with have told me. I am not an expert in this area but what you are saying amounts to an urban myth compared to hard stats and facts.

All of them? No. A goodly number....almost certainly. Again, how many is going to be difficult to pinpoint with any accuracy.

Actually if you look in to the issue the vast majority of those false claims never pan out and go for a full conviction. Those are VERY rare. These are people convicted on these sites. The facts just don't seem to back up the claims. I said 1% earlier I found a stat as high as 1.7%. If you go through trial and appeal it is much much further.

Angry men telling each other how much those bitches fuck us over is not a stat. Its a losers conversation. 100 men standing around saying ALL the women I date are bitches all have 1 thing in common. If all the women they date are bitches chances are the men are the problem. Even jackasses get lucky on occasion and find a good woman.

Did a check in my neighborhood, other than the kiddie diddler (convicted in 1996, I believe) it's almost the same as when I checked a few months ago:

1. Offender I described previously in the thread. Felony conviciton in 1997 as a 21 year-old of having sex with a 14-15 year-old girl. No subsequent offenses.

2. Offender a few blocks away. Misdemeanor conviction in 2001 as a 24 year-old of having sexual contact with a 14-15 year-old. No subsequent offenses.

3. Offender just down the street from #2. Unknown conviction (out-of-state) in 2001. No subsequent offenses.

4. Offender in the next neighborhood. Felony conviction in 2006 as a 26 year-old for having sex with a 14-15 year-old. No subsequent offenses.

Now this doesn't mean I live in a safe neighborhood, but other than #3 I don't see any real threat to my kids from any of these "predators".

You can make your own decision, but any twenty-something year old that thinks it's okay to have sexual contact with a 14/15 year old is someone that I would consider a threat.

They have already demonstrated poor decision making skills and an attraction to children.

That's good enough for me.

I would agree they were stupid, but then again so are young twenty-somethings who drive while drunk, use illegal drugs, and sleep around with people they barely know; the late teens/early 20's is a time when many otherwise responsible people make choices they will regret decades later.

However, I would disagree about the "attraction to children" bit. Many 14-15 year-olds are well into puberty by then and appear more as a sexually-mature adult than as a child. That's why Utah law distinguishes between "minors" –– teenagers from 14 through 17 –– and "children", defined as those under the age of 14 and having not reached puberty yet.

A hormonally-hopped up 21 year-old having consensual sex with a 15 year-old doesn't disturb me half as much as the same 21 year-old having sex with a 9 year-old. In one case the issue is normal adult urges being expressed at the wrong time, in the other case it's someone who has a sexual attraction to a child. Big difference.
