... about 20 minutes ago. He finally succumbed to his cancer & died as I sat by his side.
Waiting on Hospice to get back to me on how to proceed. Kind of numb. Kind of sad. Kind of relieved in a way... it's been a hard two months for the both of us. At least he is at peace now. Waiting for a reasonable hour to start calling around, letting everyone know. Waiting by distracting myself with the computer. "I knew a man once who said, Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back." Goodbye dad. |

Very sorry to hear this.
Know he's in a better place Patriot, and be comforted by that. |
I lost my father in a similar fashion. It's good that you were with him. My deepest sympathies offered.
My God bless him and keep him for all eternity.
Peace Patriot - we're all here for you. |
God has called him to his table. He is at peace in Heaven. Prayers out... |

My dad passed six years back. Try not to think of him as gone, he is still with you, he's in a much better place now.
You have my condolences. Sorry for your loss. Hang in there. I don't know what I'm going to do when the day comes and I lose one of my parents.
I'll be in your shoes within a month or two, I can only imagine what you are feeling and I'm scared shitless of feeling it soon myself. If I can lend an ear or buy a beer, please let me know Sir.

My condolences.
Spend time with friends and family through this tough time. I'm in a place I really don't like just to spend time with my dad before he's gone. I hate reading threads like this. |
My Dad died 3-1/2 years ago and my Mom about 5 months ago.
My heart definitely goes out to you. R.I.P.. |
God Bless you and your family. I have been where you are now, with my mother and my grandfather. I can say that the pain of loss lessens over time, but your dad will always be with you. I'll keep you all in my prayers.

condolances on your loss..
it does get easier over time..lost my Dad 3 years ago.. |
I lost my dad a while back - he went suddenly, all alone, 800 miles away from me.
Your dad was indeed fortunate to have you by his side. May you find strength and inner peace. Prayers to your dad and your family. |

I feel your pain bro, I lost my Mother to cancer 2 years ago. Prayers sent for you and yours in these tough times. |
Prayers sent; we lost our dad after years of his being afflicted with ALS. God Bless!
May the Blessings of the Divine be with you and your family during these times of change.
lost more friends and family to that horrible disease than I care to remember. Sorry for your loss and prayers to your family. As you say, he is at peace now and not suffering.
My deepest sympathies. I feel your pain I sat holding my dads hand when he succumbed to cancer. That was 1994 he was 79. I still miss him. Every time I finish a project I can hear my dad say "just like New York only better".
Went through that in 2002;I let the emotion out at the church service(not afraid to cry at all).Let whatever you have in out;it helped me.Deepest sympathy to you.

Its been 5 years since I too held my Dad's hand as he lost his fight with cancer. I was really close to my Dad. He was the best friend and mentor I could have hoped for. I've tried to pass along what he taught me to my own kids.
Hang tough bud. The first year is rough, but the pain subsides. Be there for your mom and the rest of your family. |
May the Good Lord embrace him and take him home....
Our prayers are with you and your family |
