It's only going to be official now....he's really been a (D) for a long time.
|
|
At the stupid people won't get confused now. He is a certified fuckhead - now w/ a (D) behind his name.
|
|
It won't make a dang bit of difference on how he votes....
He's been anti-gun for awhile (Like since 94) |
|
Good riddance. I hope he takes McCain with him.
I just hope the GOP hits rock-bottom soon and realizes what an abject failure RINO-ism has been. |
|
They must have some really evil shit that they want to get through if they are this bound and determined to have a filibuster proof majority. It's not like the Republicans have been able to stop anything in congress so far. What is it that the Dems desperately want to ram up our asses that they feel the need to get this asshole to switch parties now? Something isn't right.

Remember when in 2005 the Republicans were complaining they couldn't get judges passed and were thinking of changing some rules to get them through? The Dems screamed and some Republicans fell in line with them. People said it was insane to change the rules because it would come back to bite us. What is it that they want to pass that they need to destroy any fight from the other side? How bad is it? Oh, and Specter, I don't need to say anything else about his RINOisms. He is being challenged in the Republican primary by a conservative and it looks like he might lose. If he changes parties he may actually be able to win in the general election against a conservative. |

What a surprise: a politician lied.
Posted on Thu, Mar. 19, 2009 Specter staying on Republican ticket By Thomas Fitzgerald Inquirer Staff Writer Sen. Arlen Specter yesterday tried to snuff speculation that he was preparing to bolt the Republican Party in the face of a conservative uprising that threatens his bid for a sixth term. "To eliminate any doubt, I am a Republican, and I am running for reelection in 2010 as a Republican on the Republican ticket," Specter said in a statement released by his campaign manager. The clarification came after Specter told the Hill newspaper that he would not rule out becoming an independent and caucusing with Senate Republicans - as Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I., Conn.) did in 2006 with the Democrats. "It's pretty hard to run without a party," Specter told the Hill. "It's always something that could be a possibility. But then I wouldn't be in the Republican caucus - wouldn't have quite the standing as a Republican." Conservatives have been furious with Specter because he was one of three Republican senators whose votes clinched passage of the $787 billion Democrat-drafted economic stimulus package. He also faces skepticism in the party's base because he has not come out against legislation that would make it easier for labor unions to organize. Former Rep. Pat Toomey, a conservative Republican from Allentown, has said he is likely to challenge Specter for the party nomination. In 2004, Specter beat Toomey by 2 percentage points. Antiabortion activist Peg Luksik also wants to run. Pennsylvania law does not allow somebody to run as an independent after losing a primary, as Lieberman did. In addition, Pennsylvania has little history of successful third-party candidates, said G. Terry Madonna, pollster and professor at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster. "We still have very high high partisan identification in our state, which is a huge difference from Connecticut," he said. Specter told The Inquirer on Tuesday that he believed independents should be allowed to participate in Pennsylvania's primaries, now limited to enrolled members of a party. "We need to broaden citizen participation," he said. There also had been speculation Specter would become a Democrat, fueled largely by Gov. Rendell's televised comments. Specter has always dismissed that talk. |

He was always 5th column, and the GOP knew he was 5th column, but as long as he supported corporate interest, they did everything they could to get him reelected. Make no mistake, the Republican party deserves this, because they knew exactly what he was, and defended him anyway. And this won't be the only Neocon that jumps ship, either. They were never conservative, and now that they've permananently wrecked our party (and our nation) they can reveal their true colors and slither back to the Democrats, like many of us knew they always would.

Time to use the Willie Horton attack on his ass. Ira Einhorn is his albatross. Hang it around his neck. Better yet, showcase the victim, Holly Maddux. Ira Einhorn killed Holly Maddux, then stuffed her body in a trunk, hiding it in his closet. Specter defended Einhorn, even when Einhorn fled to France and hid for 20 years. Einhorn was also the keynote speaker on the first Earth Day celebration. Because it was HIS idea. |

the only good news on wikipedia:
Specter strongly supports the death penalty and opposes most gun control, voting against the Brady Bill, background checks at gun shows, the ban on assault weapons, and trigger locks for handguns. His work has included numerous articles on the deterring effect the death penalty has on future crimes.
he voted against the brady bill. |

I was just going to post this.
got home, turned on my tv and this asshole finally announces his true colors. he really pissed people off here with his support of porkulus. this puts them close to their super majority. |

HUMAN EVENTS: Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa) to announce switch to the Democratic Party... 60 60 60 Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) to announce switch to Dem Party? Decision gives filibuster proof majority... Not really surprised but... PIMPS AND WHORES IT IS THE SAME PERSON. His switching parties doesn't give anyone anything they didn't already have. This traitor just had his true skin showing. Even if Specter voted with the republicans there is always McCain, Collins, and Snowe that can give the dems their filibuster proof majority anyways. Especially Snowe and Collins. (They had an ACU rating of 12% and 20% in 2008 for god sakes! Many dems are MORE conservative than those two twits.) |

I mean, the alternative was a Democrat, right? This is very confusing. I'm going to lie down for awhile. |

He has been a no good fuckstick ever since his lawyer days when he was able to get the bail reduced on that hippy murderer Ira Einhorn. Despite the body of his girlfriend being found in a trunk in his closet, Einhorn was let out on $40,000 ($4,000 actual cash) and then vanished in 1981 just before his trial. He then hid in France for 20 years and fought extraditon, but in 2001 was finally sent back to the US.

Also, there are 65+++ House Democrats that have GONE ON THE RECORD against the AWB. It is not going to happen for AT LEAST two years.......but probably not at all!!!!! |

The House just became our last bastion against gun control. The U.S. Senate just officially became a rubber stamp on anything Pelosi can get passed to a conference committee.

Good riddance!
Now Olympia Snow and Chenowith should leave, as well! |

Well...... bye. It's not like we need his ass for the numbers, he would have never stood with the others to block anything anyway. I'm done caring. The Nation voted to fuck itself in the ass with a dildo made of tax dollars. So let it burn. I'll go on doing what I can to make a living. When they come to take my property, my home, whatever, I guess I'll cross that bridge when it comes. May as well be able to admit who the enemy is now.

I would not be surprised to see more of the RINO whores follow in his footsteps.
They see the writing on the wall. The dem party has the makings of being the majority party for the foreseeable future. Things like amnesty, universal healthcare, (aka more free shit for the lazy) will ensure this. Add the cult of personality that is Obama and we have an uphill battle for sure. He may or may not turn on gun control. I am sure there is a lot of behind the scenes arm twisting on this issue going on as we speak (look at Mccarthy) in NY. It will reach a fever pitch if and when a bill is actually tabled. If we can stave off amnesty and universal healthcare until the midterm elections, we may stand a chance. |

as others have stated - he is just changing names; the ideology has always been socialist[>://
Specter probably wants to make it official as he sees the dems as the winning side.. with the kenyan making changes to the census, legalizing the illegals and changing the tax codes, he is probably right |
