I don't do current political threads often, and I'm sure I will vote McCain to keep the Obeast from getting in, but I was jut wondering- is anyone who will actually be glad at their choices this year? For that matter, were you ever glad to vote for the person you voted for?
Vote for McCain and fight to keep your guns, Vote for Obama and fight to get them back!
i will not be voting for the lesser evil.
i don't vote for evil. |
I'm about one bad day away from writing in Cthulu.
Why vote for the lesser evil if you know what I mean. |
socialized health care is too big a risk. Trade, taxes, iraq. Far too many reasons McCain must win.
do you think McCain is going to win your state? |
Short answer, no. After working on a national political campaign, I've basically decided that people for the most part get the politicians they deserve. |
I'm voting for Chuck Baldwin.
I know the party platform. I appreciate the character of the man. I'm a Christian who is sick of political compromise. Google the name, read the platform. |
I'm so far from there I couldn't see it with the Hubble. |
I will not vote for McCain.
ETA: McCain is as much an enemy of freedom as Obama is. He just hides it better. IMO there is no difference. I will vote third party, before I cast my ballot for either of the same. |
Depends on who his VP is. Either way he is a way better choice than Obama.
Voted for the RINO in 2004, and 2000, and 1996, and 1992, and 1988. Why should this election be any different?
I told you the last time you posted that that I was joking. but whatever. |
My perfect candidate hasn't been on the ballot in my lifetime. I don't think McCain is evil... I find him honest and believable... sure he'll fuck a lot of things up but at least he won't absolutely destroy the American way of life like Obama will.
Its a shame that libertarians can't get nominated for President by a major party. The two closest ones were Ron Paul and Fred Thompson, and we all know how that went.
I was really excited about voting for Bush in 2000. I was really looking forward to ending the Clinton nightmare. I was pretty energized in 2004 as well. This it's more about beating Obama.
Mmmmm pwnage. |
I *was* the same way, until I realized what a complete disaster BHO would be for this country...there's already so many mindless knuckle dragging droolers claiming they will vote for this guy, it's scary. If it would be down to voting between him and Hillary, I'd vote her. Seriously. I feel I knife twising in my back as I say this.
AMEN to that |
Fred Thompson wasn't a Libertarian. If anything, he was a Federalist. It's a damn shame this country now votes like they would for American Idol instead of on substance. We could have had a fantastic President. |
Anyone still living? |
For the sake of America, yes. But I'm hoping for 10. Genesis 18:32 By the way- Where did you disagree with the platform? |
Damn he almost won too. |
Nah, just took him 16 years. |
What do you think about his stance on 9/11 and the troofers? |
Thats true. He's a Republican. So is Ron Paul. Libertarian with a small l. As in libertarian in his ideology. No, Fred Thompson isn't an absolute libertarian, but he's alot MORE of a libertarian than McCain or any of his close competitors. |
I'm with Jesse Ventura's idea of "None of the Above" expressing a vote of no confidence in any of the candidates. I've been a 95% republican voter for 20 years... but I'm feeling a bit disenchanted with both major parties. But ultimately, yes, I'll vote for McCain.
That is the ONLY reason I am voting for McStain. I DON'T like him, at all. But with him there is at least a CHANCE he would appoint a conservative judge/s to SCOTUS. And that is the ONLY reason. Love Chuck Baldwin except for the christianity thing, but damn good newsletter. Like Ron Pauls domestic policies. I say nuke ME and let Disney figure out how to make it an amusement park. Rent a radiation suit for the day. |

which we will never see again. The way the Reagan campaign was funded is now illegal... under McCain-Feingold www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/article.cgi?article=235 |

Reagan sure as hell didn't buy the presidency. |
To avoid serving under the greater evil? This republic is too large and unwieldy to give us ideal choices every election. Every action we take makes a difference and preventing the very dangerous Barack Obama from becoming president is 80 percent good, 20 percent reluctant automatic choice. |
+1 OTOH, what's to stop McCain from giving us more liberal justices, being the "maverick" that he is? |
His word. Republican members of congress. Republican voters. His voting record. Well, everything, I suppose. |
Black Jesus is the worst candidate the Democrats have put on the ticket in the last 100 years. I'd vote for McGovern or even Carter before I'd vote for Obama.
Politics is all about compromise. And I'm sure not about to vote for a truther . . . |
I was not going to vote out of protest until the Heller decision came out. The only difference between Obama and McCain may be the Supreme court nominees they choose. That decision will likely be of historical significance so I gotta vote. Heller was too close.
Six. And labeling him a truther is ludicrous, and shameful. |
In another thread, someone said my "California" vote for McCain was worthless.
So why the hell not vote for a third party candidate, or even bozo the clown. Shit! I've been disenfranchised |
I think McCain - while not perfect - will be heads over tails better than Obama. I don't agree with him on some key issues - but honestly... I would like to see how he does. He honestly seems like a solid 'old school' guy. While he was a 'favorite son' he has paid his dues.
Come on, badfish. Do you really think McCain would nominate conservative justices - the most likely ones to toss out his legacy legislation? Or, at best, would he give us Kennedys? |

Way to quote me out of context.... |
