Oh and most of the meat and vegetables are bought in the local neighborhood market. Totally fresh. If anyone is interested I will post pics. Some I've posted before.

I want 25 choices of olives!
Good to know we aren't the only ones getting flooded with Chinese bullshit. |
Shotguns only and require a special permit. I never saw a gunstore. I did see the shotgun club driving by. |
I small exaggeration. |
25, but I didn't try any. I did drive through the area where it is prevalent. The Rif mountains. I didn't see any. |
Fascinating pix - Thanks for posting!
I guess I could understand consumer demand for many different kinds of olives in that part of the world...but 25 different kinds of flour? |
the flour saleslady is pretty hot. Ive always loved moroccan girls, I had a lot living in the neighborhood while growing up.
Reminds me of stores in the big Mexican cities - Except that the flour girl would be over in the beer section instead...and would be wearing a lot less clothing!
Which city? Is he working? |
Serious question. Was there any pork products in the meat section?
No. I looked at just about every single item too. But it really didn't surprise me. Muslims and Jews make up over 99% of the population. There just isn't enough pork eaters to support a market. I suppose you could find some in Casablanca but not the smaller cities. I do know my wife's Dad used to hunt hog and bring it back and they would eat it. |

Everyone looks so happy, just look at all their bright faces.
They move here or to Britain. Seriously, people there eat fresh, non prepared foods, and walk a lot more than we do. |
So tell us your draw-down story between you and the Moroccan receipt checker
Nice looking family. Besides, I don't know anyone that particularly enjoys going to Wal-Mart. |

They can't drive for shit period. This little traffic jam took about six guys and five minutes to get unsnagged. It was fun to watch. There was lots and lots of yelling, threatening and rude gestures. |
I just showed her my American Passport and she bowed before my greatness. Actually, they didn't have them. |
Is that camel meat at WalMart as well ?
Thanks for sharing the pics. |
I think its takes lot of time to walk down to my local store, how do they have time to walk to different stores to buy meat.
Other black folks on the second pics immigrants from south? Also, the washer is $50.00 right? I would love one for my kids. |
I have a lot of respect for a culture that actually prepares their own food.
And the Peugeot's and M's make me happy |
Thanks for the post and for the pictures.
How long are you going to be over there? |
Everything is close. I would walk to the local vege market, meat market and grocery store and buy everything we needed for a day and be back in less than 30 minutes. And that was with stopping to take pics. I walked less than a half a mile there and back. |
This is from last summer. |
Yes, either from the South or from one of the sub Saharan countries. Moroccans don't like them much. About $50, yes. |
I missed a pic I REALLY wanted to get. It was a Peugeot, Reunalt and Fiat car dealership. I was going to caption it as the world's worst car dealership. |
Fix't |

The red meat in the shops looks pretty good. What was the quality like on the plate?
Not so great, here. |

Good post. You get a 10 for making the internet worth looking at today.
I think it would bother me to have to buy meat that hangs out for all the bugs and flies to get on. Or is it a bonus when you buy meat and get bug meat with it.
For me easy, a little harder for my wife. She has a green card but the actual document was expired and she had an extension letter from INS. It took about 30 minutes to get that sorted out over there. If you are talking about travel, it was really easy. There are daily flights from NY to Casa. |
They keep the areas really clean. I don't remember flies. I think I would have remembered becaue I HATE flies. There was a shitload of feral nasty cats in certain areas though. |
